Giving Bush credit for the Arab Spring...

We could play nice in the sandbox with all the dictators, sheiks, al Qaeda, the Taliban, and the Muslim Brotherhood and STILL come out the Great Satan. It doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is we have a vested interest in Israel and the region's relatively plentiful and inexpensive oil. Nothing more, nothing less.

Regardless of which group of Sharia Law followers rise to the top, they'll still take our money while they kick us in the gonads.

All the more reason to tell American environmentalist nut jobs to shove it up their moronic asses and start getting serious about using ALL available domestic sources of energy at our disposal.
Exactly the point I was making. We have no real reason to be over in the Middle East at all. I would rather not send our young men and women to fight wars to protect cheap oil and Israel, a country that does nothing for us except give us an ally in a region that we don't need to be involved with.

Iraq was a shithole before we invaded in 2003, however, before 1991 it was not in nearly as bad of shape. My aunt lived in Kuwait in the 80's, teaching at an international school, and she said she'd drive to Baghdad to shop and that it was a beautiful city.

LOL, you can't be serious with this one...the media loves ANY story that would make Bush look bad.

Well, I think it was more stable (as stable as you can get in that part of the world). By that I mean, civil unrest and daily suicide bombings were not the norm. Most likely because Saddam ruled with an iron fist. Don't get me wrong, compared to how we live it has always been a dump, but I am speaking about people's thoughts on it that have been there before and some that have lived there before and after. I am just the messenger dude!
