Homophobia still lives

Can you answer this question, and this question only, with an honest (honest, not political) response? Why do you want to be married to someone? Can't you be monogamous without being married?

Theres no hard evidence to support your theory. Burden of proof is on you bro!

But seriously, same-sex marriage is already moving forward. Probably not as fast as you'd like, but it still is.

And my point is this "younger generation" is still going to have a large segment of anti-gays.

There are more than a hundred benefits married people get that unmarried people don't get. That includes straight people who are living together but not married. These include everything from hospital visitation rights to spousal insurance. I know a lovely lesbian couple in their 80s who have been together for 35 years. I would like to have one good reason why they shouldn't have all the rights association with marriage.

Someone needs to do an experiment.

Take the sperm from a gay guy and the eggs from a lesbian and create a child.

Have child grow up in a solitary environment until they hit puberty. then place them in an environment with a male and female and see what happens.

Same experiment would also have to include a child from two non homos

So you just want it for the benefits then?

If this is really your stance, you must also be opposed to couples getting married who are beyond their child-bearing years.

    That's the primary reason.

We have over 6 billion people on this planet. I hardly think I'm retarding the growth of anything.

This also sounds like it is more geared towards the private sector, and not the public. So you're saying you want the govt. to tell businesses what to do ... even more?

So getting married means nothing more to you than getting free benefits from the government? Just go on welfare and be done with it because not once have you stated that gays want to get married because they love their partner, you are only concerned with extra benefits that a real married couple receives. It is because of people like you that most people can't stand gays and their entitlement propaganda.

That's all marriage is in the eyes of the law. Anyone not religious is essentially doing it for the tax break that shouldn't exist

Exactly. If we allow gays to marry, what's stopping me from marrying my dog? Can I file my taxes under married?

i think it was you who brought this up before. it fails because even though they phsyically cant reproduce, the primal urge is still there.

Why would "the primal urge" be a prerequisite for marriage?

I agree with the tax break not needing to exist for married couples. I do think some people do it for more than the tax break, such as having a family.

I think you are arguing for something I wasn't stating. I never mentioned marriage, you brought that up. From an evolutionary standpoint homosexuality is an end game, thus anti species, and ABNORMAL.

That is the current subject matter of the topic. It may not have started there, but miss a little, miss a lot.

You quoted me and asked about marriage, my post said nothing about marriage.

    Define marriage.

I think it's pretty clear that the one that suffers from homophobia on this thread is fairwoodking.

This is about par for the course for a forum full of people from Ohio.

Two gay guys get beat up and humiliated by a cop for being gay, and its treated as suspect and "gays need to quit whining". Hilarious. We don't get more tolerant/empathetic over time, it seems, just change what we decide to be tolerant/empathetic about.

By the way, straight homophobic men are more sexually aroused by homosexual sex than straight non-homophobic men. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8772014

You obviously don't even know the definition of homophobia or you wouldn't make such a bonehead remark.
