What do you think? I she right or retard.
I had a friend get his appendix out with no insurance and he had to pay less than 1k of a 10k bill. The hospital had some charity fund he applied for help from to get help paying the bill. -
DeadliestWarrior34She shoulda had butt secks.
-
hoops23I'm sure there will be a plethora of people on here soon ripping her for mentioning Obama in a positive light.
They'll probably call her trash and stupid for having a job that doesn't offer coverage.
They'll also call her a dumbass because she tried to apply for health insurance with a pre-existing condition. -
ManO'WarSince she has a job she should be forced to pay back the money for the surgery.
-
ManO'WarAnd since when did it become the responsibility of the employer to provide health insurance!??!?
How about we all make our employers provide car insurance too...after all, we need our cars to get to work, and car/motorcycle insurance can get pretty expensive. -

Well someone has to pay for poor, poor 34 year old white woman's health care. Might as well be you.ccrunner609;1040330 wrote:My coverage at work has doubled in price. -
ManO'WarYes, but since when did that become expected???
That's the problem with this country...everyone wants a handout.
If the government has to step in and make everyone pay for those without healthcare, then why not house insurance, car insurance, life insurance, etc...??? -
ManO'WarAnd another thing or two....if she was that worried about it, then she is free to get a job with "healthcare and benefits", heck even McDonalds offers that. And since she didn't have to pay into any healthplan, she had extra money in her paycheck to purchase her own, or put away for such emergencies.
Typical somebody that wants to have everyone else pay her way. I'd be ashamed to even put a pic of myself out in public if I was receiving handouts. -
queencitybuckeyeI know of multiple hospitals in Columbus and in Charlotte (I assume it's the same in other metro areas) where she would have been treated without regard to ability to pay. The notion that without Obamakare she would have been a goner is a bald-faced lie.

This may shock you but it came about because of the actions of the federal government. Employer benefit plans proliferated in the 1940's. Government imposed wage freezes on employers during WWII accelerated the spread of employer provided health care. Employers unable by law to attract workers by paying more, instead were allowed to improve their benefit packages by adding health care.ManO'War;1040333 wrote:And since when did it become the responsibility of the employer to provide health insurance!??!?
Since federal government action caused health care to become a responsibility of the employer, federal government action unfortunately is need to correct the problem it fostered. Not as an opportunity for the feds to grab it for themselves, but to put policy in place that allows it to be transferred to the states and the people's responsibility.
Employers should not be in the insurance business. They should do what they do best, manufacturing a good or providing a service to their customers while making a profit off those goods and services -

your coverage, or what YOU have had to pay? Be honest. -
Cleveland BuckThe people that don't understand why government involvement is the reason health care prices are so high will never understand how to fix the problem and wonder why more government isn't good.

What has happened to the overall cost of other goods during this time to compare to healthcare and what was the average increase in cost before Obama came into office. Without those numbers that 15% isn't really helpful in gauging how harmful or beneficial Obamacare has been.ccrunner609;1040330 wrote:Her sign should of read:
I am a 34 year old women that never went to college and has jumped around jobs since HS and never cared about insurance and never cared about buying any form of health care. Now that I have a rotten pussy, I am going to let everyone else take care of me.
Even if you feel like Obama care is helpfull what you dont understand is that nothing is free. Since this bafoon has entered office, healthcare coverage has increased almost 15%. My wifes employer dropped her coverage alltogether. My coverage at work has doubled in price. -

It doesn't cost your family $20,000/year. It costs your family $3000. Why do you think people hate teachers? -

ernest_t_bassAnd CC, here is why I asked you about what you said, "My insurance at work has increased 15%."
Most teachers around the state had their PERCENTAGES of what they paid into insurance change. In your situation, you said your wife no longer was covered at work, which I would only assume meant that you picked her up on yours, which would show an increase in what YOU pay.
Considering these factors, of course your insurance rose. You're just trying to pull the blinds over people's eyes with numbers. And you're also a fucking idiot.
- Added more people to plan?
- Your negotiated percentage of what you pay rose?
- Yes, the actual rates increased, like the rest of the fucking country. Boo-fucking-hoo.
- Hurp -
Skyhook79Need more information. Is she married? If so does her Husband have ins or does he work? Where does she work at that her employer doesn't offer ins (most do these days)? Why hasn't she applied for her own health Ins policy if she isn't married they are not that expensive (for single people) and all premiums and out of pocket cost's (up to a certain %) are tax deductible.

QuakerOatsAnd actually, this is obamacare:

Print out a large copy for your office and associates -- absolutely unbelievable.
Read it and weep .................. change we can believe in ... -
FootwedgeThe lady could have gotten the operation with or without Obamacare. She lied. We have had socialized a large portion of medical costs for decades and decades...don't let this lady fool you.
You think our old system would have said..."sorry lady, you must wither away and die"?
The idea behind Obamacare...these low enders will now have to chip in a little bit of the cost. The very people who criticize Obamacare should be the people applauding it.
As for the across the board rise in health care plans...that's been going on a long time too. Blame it all on Obamacare if that gives you good wood. The real culprits....corporate health care/insurance companies colluding and price fixing...and not enough free market competition in those oligopolies. Throw in a little "no tort reform" allowed and presto...we all pay more. -

Even though the productive have always and likely will always pay the way for the non-productive, I'm not thrilled with the concept of it being more and more the law of the land.Footwedge;1041284 wrote:The very people who criticize Obamacare should be the people applauding it.

In regards to my wife getting dropped......what if she wasnt married to a man that has a college education and a career that offers great health care? Would that be a "too bad" moment? The fact that a person with her job and education can suddenly get dropped after 12 years of employment because this administration is trying to strangle the haves to give to the have nots is sickening.
TEB, you should be scared cause its gonna get you to.
I have the same education as you. Actually, better, because I'm not a fucking gym teacher. -

You tell people not to bitch if they haven't obtained an education and worked to get a good job that provides good benefits, then you turn around and bitch about the health plans of you and your wife. Ironic.ccrunner609;1040527 wrote:That would be both........It costs me and my family almost 20,000 a year to insure. I pay 15% of that. My wife had an employer who was insuring her for around $7,000 a year and after Obama care it went to $17,000 for her. They dropped her.
And I dont want some left wing nutjob on here talking about how thats not enough.....When you and your spouse both went to college to enjoy a high paying job and the perks that go along with it and you didnt.....you dont get to bitch about what you dont have, everyone knows the gig going in. You want the good life.....you got to go get it. Its a priviliage not a right. -

Everyone getting employer paid insurance in the 40's also led to skyrocketing prices in healthcare because people weren't paying it, so they weren't concerned with the cost.majorspark;1040453 wrote:This may shock you but it came about because of the actions of the federal government. gutPeople like this piss me off. This girl could have had decent insurance for $100 a month, probably less (especially if it was only catastrophic insurance with a high deductible). She didn't have insurance not because she couldn't afford it but because, like many people, she sees no benefit to the expense (until you need it!) and CHOOSES to spend her money on smartphone, data plans, premium cable, etc....
Not to ignore the points about her being able to get free treatment anyway, but as cold and heartless as it sounds YOU need to be responsible for the decisions and choices you make. It shouldn't be the burden of the taxpayer to bail out YOUR poor decisions.
