The Illuminati, Does it really exist and do you believe it?
-
King CurtisI have been reading quite a bit about it in the last week and really starting to believe that it truly does exist.
What about you? -
tk421No.
-
gutIt's really just a conspiracist upper-level Free Masons deal. I've seen some pretty specific references claiming "proof", but I think it's mostly a name concocted to describe more influential Masons and their associations.
It may or may not exist, but I seriously seriously doubt it exists in the form sensationalized by conspiracy theorists and Dan Brown -
King CurtisIn the research I have done the past week, I have heard alot of music from the 90's bring this up.
-
ptown_trojans_1Nope, not a believer.
-
I Wear PantsNot in the least.
-
CenterBHSFanIf it does exist, it's just people playing at what it might have been in the past.
-
cbus4lifeI am the Illuminati. Beware.
-
sleeperI think it exists, but it's probably fairly small scale(ie. they don't really do anything).

Glory Days
they probably just sit around and play dungeons and dragons in their basement and talk about boobs while their mom makes cookies for them upstairs.sleeper wrote: I think it exists, but it's probably fairly small scale(ie. they don't really do anything). -

Agreed. It definitely exists, but I think its more of a mixture of other groups than an elite singular group of its own. -

rmolin73Someone help me out here. I got into a big argument over the weekend because I keep hearing about this so called phantom organization. Apparently they are the one's that are really in control and make all the decisions in the world. Now some guy is telling me that both Bush's, Clinton, and Obama are in this organization. The last straw is when he told me that Lebron and Kobe are a part of it. I told him that maybe he needs to stop dropping acid because he sounds insane.

queencitybuckeyeThere are people with a psychological need to believe that real life is like the freakin' X-files. I'd love to see a study of these asshats to determine the cause of their delusions.

I think there is a lot of truth to that. Some people seem to have a need to feel special by claiming some "insight" or "inside knowledge" to "what is really going on". These people tend to throw the word "sheeple" around a lot in their arguments, which in itself is telling. I mean, it's ironic that such logically challenged people gravitate to these theories because it makes them somehow feel superior, like the rest of the "sheeple" are too stupid to realize what is happening.queencitybuckeye wrote: There are people with a psychological need to believe that real life is like the freakin' X-files. Actually, my opinion is the "hard-core" conspiracy theorists are actually just hard-core opportunists, getting rich off bilking these morons. But I do appreciate the entertainment value. -
2quik4uIlluminati spelled backwards takes you where?

ernest_t_bassI am of the belief that some sort of illuminati does, in fact, exist.

For real, though. I have a friend that is a nut job about this stuff, so I've read some stuff (with a very open mind). While a lot of the stuff comes from whack jobs, a lot of it, especially celebrity accounts of things, are very believable. At least the possibility.

This is more or less what I believe as well, but I do believe that there are global "power elites" in politics and business that have an informal network of loose associations but nothing as insidious as an "Illuminati".gut;84677 wrote:It's really just a conspiracist upper-level Free Masons deal.
