When BHO was elected Hollyweird and the MSM openly celebrated the alleged end of the conservative movement. Take heart. It was but wishful thinking.
Conservatism has essentially ruled the day since 1980 and the right just wants to keep moving further to the right despite life getting worse for most Americans for 30 years. The last two liberal president's we've had; the first one completely eliminated welfare and the second one codified Newt Gingrich's healthcare plan. It is funny you scorn "unbridled liberalism" but it was during the post-war boom when our nation was at its most liberal economically and when the most prosperity and growth was enjoyed by all of Americans.

But this post just sums it doesn't it? This imaginary idea that there are these leftist elites out there doing all they kind to destroy the good conservatism of this country and that they're to blame for all of our ills despite Republicans and Conservatism controlling most of the political debate and most of the political power for 30 years.

Massive bullshit. The only reason American-style socialist policies survived is because of the post-war economy. You really need to stop drinking the leftist kool-aid.

It really is incredible how the post war boom happened really. The Keynesians told us that cutting the budget would be a disaster and the 10 million troops coming home couldn't possibly be absorbed. They wanted to keep building tanks and battleships to keep people working. Luckily they ignored the clowns, cut the budget in half and let the economy go.

CBuck, please don't let facts deter BoatShoes from his opinions.

This is not true. It is correct to cut government outlays at full employment. You are incorrect here but I don't suppose it matters. They don't call the post-war boom and the moderation of the business cycle that flowed with it "the great keynesian boom" for no reason. It was precisely the types of anti-unemployment policies that you decry that allowed for the boom to happen. But alas, since policy makers tried to hard to fight unemployment and let inflation get out of control the right has not relinquished control.

Strange, your standards for what you consider a "fact" seem to change when a free market fundamentalist makes a post.
