During Watergate and the Iran-contra deal, the media were foaming at the mouth to dig and dig and make sure justice was done and the Constitution was upheld (as they should have). Where is that same media now?

I'm wondering when the press will finally wake up and do their jobs, instead of fellating the buffoons they helped elect - http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/dec/15/obamas-watergate-758295296/
Mr. Holder is a shameless careerist and a ruthless Beltway operative. For years, his out-of-control Justice Department has violated the fundamental principle of our democracy, the rule of law. He has refused to prosecute members of the New Black Panthers for blatant voter intimidation that took place in the 2008 election. Career Justice lawyers have confessed publicly that Mr. Holder will not pursue cases in which the perpetrators are black and the victims white. States such as Arizona and Alabama are being sued for simply attempting to enforce federal immigration laws. Mr. Holder also opposes voter identification cards, thereby enabling fraud and vote-stealing at the ballot box. What else can we expect from one who, during the Clinton administration, helped pardon notorious tax cheat Marc Rich and Puerto Rican terrorists?

This mofo now playing the race card....

Hey! You and your butt buddy Obama are Black get over it. You use the Black card when needed votes now live with it ... Black who the fuck cares

You and Obama need to get a clue you are no better than me, you're just a guy no better, no different, no other race than American...

You fucked up and your department and agenda is a menace to the security of America Your happy ass need to be fired and criminal charges filed against you ..

If Bam would fire Eric Holder and issue a statement confirming that he is in fact, the most pathetic little turd ever to hold the post of AG, I'd actually consider voting for him this fall. No lie.

2006−2007: Operation Wide Receiver and other probes
The suspicious sale of AR-15s led to Operation Wide Receiver.[SUP][23][/SUP]

The first known ATF "gunwalking" operation to Mexican drug cartels, named Operation Wide Receiver, began in early 2006 and ran into late 2007. Licensed dealer Mike Detty informed the ATF of a suspicious gun purchase that took place in February 2006 in Tucson, Arizona. In March he was hired as a confidential informant working with the ATF's Tucson office, part of their Phoenix, Arizona field division.[SUP][23][/SUP] With the use of surveillance equipment, ATF agents monitored additional sales by Detty to straw purchasers. With assurance from ATF "that Mexican officials would be conducting surveillance or interdictions when guns got to the other side of the border",[SUP][24][/SUP] Detty would sell a total of about 450 guns during the operation.[SUP][22][/SUP] These included AR-15s, AK-47s and Colt .38s. The vast majority of the guns were eventually lost as they moved into Mexico.[SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][23][/SUP][SUP][25][/SUP]
At the time, under the Bush administration Department of Justice (DOJ), no arrests or indictments were made. After President Barack Obama took office in 2009, the DOJ reviewed Wide Receiver and found that guns had been allowed into the hands of suspected gun traffickers. Indictments began in 2010, over three years after Wide Receiver concluded. As of October 4, 2011, nine people had been charged with making false statements in acquisition of firearms and illicit transfer, shipment or delivery of firearms.[SUP][18][/SUP] As of November, charges against one defendant had been dropped; five of them had pled guilty, and one had been sentenced to one year and one day in prison. Two of them remained fugitives.[SUP][23]

From what I understand, and I could be wrong, but the difference between Bush's Wide Receiver and BHO's Fast and Furious is that the Bush plan involved notification to Congress and was a joint operation with the Mexican government. When it became apparent that the Mexican government was not holding up their end of the bargain, Wide Receiver was ended.

With BHO's Fast and Furious, neither Congress nor the Mexican government were informed. I may be wrong, but when a country secretly ships arms into a foreign country, it is a violation of international law. For the office of the POTUS to do it without the consent of Congress, it could be an impeachable offense.

Additionally, some have pointed out that the Bush operation was motivated with a true intent to combat the drug cartels, (which subsequently backfired due to the Mexican government being in bed with the cartels!). Conversely, the BHO operation masked itself in going after the drug cartels while it's true intent was to make it look like the legal gun shows and dealers are the guilty people. BHO could then limit gun ownership and second amendment rights.

Damnit man...how dare you defend Bush 43? After listening to the Obamabots, I think Bush may likely still be President.

In early 2011, the operation became controversial when it was revealed that Operation Fast and Furious and other probes under Project Gunrunner had allowed guns to "walk" into the hands of Mexican drug cartels since as early as 2006.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3]

What part of early as 2006 can you liberals not read? Who was President during 2006? I am sick and tired of liberals posing as conservative and sucking at the teet of nasty spending liberals like George W Bush.

I am tired of hearing how he spent less? Who gives a crap about less a spending liberal is a spending liberal no matter how you slice it.[/SUP]
