Manhattan BuckeyeYou'll have to forgive me, I didn't take English in college but where in the world in the article is Gates mentioning the word "ungrateful"?
Are hard-hitting websites like this where you get your political views? That would explain a lot. -

What exactly is Gates expecting in return? Is there some sort of unwritten contract that Israel must do X,Y, and Z in return for all of our military assistance?Gates believes Netanyahu's government has offered the Obama administration "nothing in return" for its generous security aid, which includes access to top-quality weapons, assistance in developing missile-defense systems and high-level intelligence sharing.
And why does Netanyahu owe the Obama administration anything at all? Was Barack Obama's administration the first to provide military assistance to Israel? Is Barack Obama the best friend Israel's ever had?
Or is Israel just worthless and need to be wiped off the map? Just curious. -
I Wear PantsDoesn't need wiped off the map but I don't see why we have to pay for all their fucking shit.
And I think he means nothing in return as in, they don't even always treat us that well even though we buy everything for them. It'd be nice if they were at least grateful. -

I'm for charging countries for our defense if they aren't strategically necessary for our survival. I think the Germans, French, and Italians to name a few should pay for our protection. Why should we help prop-up their socialist states for free?I Wear Pants;886600 wrote:Doesn't need wiped off the map but I don't see why we have to pay for all their fucking shit.

Israel is another story. We can all agree the Mideast is the hotbed for hostilities over the past 35 years or so. We must maintain our presence or risk WW3. If we elect Ron Paul, we will cease and decist all Mideast operations, return all American troops to our soil, and essentially bail on our Israeli brothers. Do you think that would provide a safer planet or one sitting on a hair-trigger? -

We don't pay for all their shit. Israel's 2010 budget was about 70 billion. We give them around 3 billion. They are not even the annual leader anymore. We give more foreign assistance to Israels traditional enemies then them. They dwarf in comparison to whats handed out to Islamic nations. But for some reason Israel is the problem they are the ungrateful ones. Horseshit. There are just some people out there that always see the Jewish boogey man in the bushes. Here is an interesting site with an interactive map and some graphs.I Wear Pants;886600 wrote:Doesn't need wiped off the map but I don't see why we have to pay for all their fucking shit.

iclfan2I don't really care about Israel, but I don't necessarily get the Israeli love fest that goes on in this country. Yea they are our allies, but it seems like people defend them no matter what, regardless if they are the ones bombing people or stealing land.

There are basically as many Jews living in the state of Israel as live in the United States. There are strong religious ties between the Jewish and Christian faiths. There are a lot of Christians in the country or those who loosely sympathieses with their beliefs.iclfan2;886718 wrote:I don't really care about Israel, but I don't necessarily get the Israeli love fest that goes on in this country. That said in recent history we do not see many Jews strapped with explosive running into mall and shops and blowing themselves up and killing civilians in the process. Few people in the country or the world sympathize with this type of violence.
As for "stolen" land most of the peoples of the world live on "stolen" land. If you expect it of the Israelis lead by example and pack up your shit a get to the nearest Indian reservation, tell him you are sorry, and here is your land back. Israel is the only nation in history that I know of that has voluntarily torn down and removed some of its citizen's settlements on land won in war or occupied by migration. What do they get in return? More war and a closer launching pad for their enemies. -

More like 6000 years. All of this started when Sarah convinced Abraham to "free" (read "kick out") Haggar and Ishmael in favor of her son, Isaac. So....because there are a lot of Jews in America we should support their bellicose policies? Their himan rights abuses? Their military aggression? Most Jews are staunch liberals here in the states, and they don't too kindly to Bibi.majorspark;886831 wrote:There are basically as many Jews living in the state of Israel as live in the United States. LOL...as opposed to using the big bombs and killing 3 to 5 times more innocent people than the strappers do. Little bombs...reprehensible. Big bombs....A-OK.That said in recent history we do not see many Jews strapped with explosive running into mall and shops and blowing themselves up and killing civilians in the process. They get more war because of their Zionist policies of treating people the same way their own people were treated in Germany. They kill, main, and take what they want. They have by far and away the most UN violations...of any nation on the planet. As for "stolen" land most of the peoples of the world live on "stolen" land. If you're OK with giving Israel 3 billion a year to further arm their military, then I would never, ever complain about wasteful government spending and the forever increasing national debt.majorspark;886680 wrote:We don't pay for all their ****. Easy question. Real easy in fact. You implement Ron Pail's foreign policy, their would be virtually no terrorism in the world. They don't hate us for our lifestyle...nor our religious views. They hate us for our occupation of their lands and putting pro West puppets in power, governing their own people.BGFalcons82;886647 wrote:I'm for charging countries for our defense if they aren't strategically necessary for our survival. One question: Is it legal for me, as a Christian, to set foot in Mecca or Medina, or to carry a Bible in Saudi Arabia, or to have a conversation with a Muslim about his faith and the claims of Jesus and the New Testament in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, etc, etc, etc?
Please tell me you were joking or someone else hacked your account when you said Israel is the biggest UN human rights violator on the planet. -

As for the Christian thing.....I don't think the fundamentalist Evangelicals allow too many Muslim Americans to join their churches either. -
FootwedgeThe following is a list of United Nations resolutions that concern Israel and bordering states such as Lebanon. The Human Rights Council has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than it has all other states combined.[SUP][1][/SUP]
From 1967 to 1989 the UN Security Council passed 131 resolutions directly addressing the Arab–Israeli conflict. In early Security Council practice, resolutions did not directly invoke Chapter VII. They made an explicit determination of a threat, breach of the peace, or act of aggression, and ordered an action in accordance with Article 39 or 40. Resolution 54 determined that a threat to peace existed within the meaning of Article 39 of the Charter, reiterated the need for a truce, and ordered a cease-fire pursuant to Article 40 of the Charter. Although the phrase "Acting under Chapter VII" was never mentioned as the basis for the action taken, the chapter's authority was being used.[SUP][2][/SUP]
The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a number of resolutions saying that the strategic relationship with the United States encourages Israel to pursue aggressive and expansionist policies and practices.[SUP][3][/SUP] The 9th Emergency Session of the General Assembly was convened at the request of the Security Council when the United States blocked efforts to adopt sanctions against Israel.[SUP][4][/SUP] The United States responded to the frequent criticism from UN organs by adopting the Negroponte doctrine.

Why would any Christian church want a Muslim, or Jew or Hindu to join - the whole point is that to join a Christian church you have to profess Christianity, right? Are you confusing Muslim with Arabs? Many Arab-Americans join Christian churches. -

That just shows your complete ignorance. There are Christian missionaries in many parts of the Muslim world, they all aren't in Iran. You realize that Indonesia is a heavily Muslim country, as is the Philippines. Do you think any Christian church (evangelical or not) will turn down an Indonesian immigrant that is interested in the Christian faith? If so you truly are clueless.Footwedge;886994 wrote:Let me rephrase...since your comprehensive skills aren't your long suit.....Evangelical Chistians are always looking for new members from all walks of life...and from all religious backgrounds....escept for you Muslims, stfo.
