    The difference between conservatives and liberals I guess. I really don't want to win at all costs -- and I don't want my candidates or their allies to pull stuff that is unethical. I honestly do not think liberals feel the same way. For them, the ends justify the means. I've seen it too many times. The end result is power and how you get there doesn't seem to matter to them...unless they think the right has pulled a fast one.

    Hypocrites.

    In the world of journalism not so far removed from today...everyone involved in such a hoax would be summarily fired. You won't see MSNBC do that, though. They have a niche audience (liberals) and don't care about the truth.
    If either of you fools think Ed Schultz is a journalist then that tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of how media works in this country.

    Schultz, Maddow, O'Reilly, Hannity, Van Sustern, O'Donnell and Limbaugh.

    Funny you say that. I went to Buckeye Boys State with a kid whose parent was (and apparently is) the treasurer for a county near Cleveland. He was the biggest Democrat I had ever met. Not a bleeding liberal, not an environmentalist quack, not a union guy per se....just a fan of the system and his party. So odd.

    I don't know if you or anyone else has attended BBS, but the first thing you do is have an election. He personally went around and organized the "cool kids" (including me--of course--and Michigan's starting LG Patrick Omameh) and basically said we should steal the election by offering our opposition some of the best selected positions post-election, he said if we all won he would be able to dictate who received what money and could basically run shit illegally. Pretty shrewd thinking for a 17-year old with (cough) zero political background.

    I told him to basically fuck himself and that it was unethical. It turns out we all won anyway, and he again gathered us and said he found a glitch in the BBS banking system's verification, and as our city's treasurer could cash made up checks and launder money--AT BUCKEYE BOY STATE. I convinced my buddies that that idea as asinine and we shouldn't do shit to get in trouble.

    Well it turns out that at the end of the week he revealed to us that he had stolen (behind our backs) something like ~$6,000,000 from the BBS state laundering money through their system and that none of them knew where to find it.

    I shake my head that this guy has a parent who is actually a county treasurer somewhere. Where do you think he learned that shit?

    Here's the difference: You don't take a DIRECT QUOTE from a presidential candidate and deliberately skew it to make him look bad. Entertainer or journalist, it's not done. It's unethical on every level of journalism in the world, from TMZ to the NY Times. It's the biggest taboo of all.

    And just in case you've forgotten: NBC News promotes MSNBC all the time as it's "news partner" during their broadcasts. So even if Schultz qualifies as a leftist Limbaugh in your mind, he's employed by one of the biggest news entities in the free world.

    You need to find where I mentioned Joe Biden's name in any of my posts before you call me a liar. The point I made in the original post still stands- the mainstream media sets the hypocrisy bar higher than anyone or anything else in our society.
    And yet the story continues to circulate, even though the major print media — such as The New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal — never did their own stories confirming Biden’s alleged statement. We were struck by Rhodes’ comment that Biden’s comment was all over national TV, and therefore must be true, so how could the president deny it?
    Well, obviously if the Slimes and the Compost didn't do a story on it, then it definitely didn't happen.

    Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) called it a “Satan sandwich,” and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) called seemed to enjoy the heat analogy, saying: “the Tea Partiers and the GOP have made their slash and burn lunacy clear, and while I do not love this compromise, my vote is a hose to stop the burning. The arsonists must be stopped.
    The Human Gaffe Machine is well known for lacing up his Chuck Taylor's and shoving them straight into his pie hole, therefore it is extremely conceivable that he called Americans, "terrorists".

    Actually, I can. Deliberately misquoting a presidential candidate to try and discredit him is akin to what Dan Rather tried to do to Bush with his phony National Guard papers. It's an attempt to sway an election (in this case a primary) by falsifying information used by voters to make voting decisions.

    Screwing with a direct quote is the lowest a member of the media can go...and pundit (vs. journalist) or not, he is employed by a news channel that regularly partners with NBC on mainstream media coverage. His standards have to be higher than those of someone who isn't directly affiliated with a news organization like NBC.

    If O'Reilly had done this with a prominent Democrat on Fox News, he'd be the subject of actual news stories by other members of the media and there would be more calls from the left that Fox should be shut down. Of course, since this happened, we've heard nothing from members of the MSM...yet more proof of the left's widespread hypocrisy.

    Much to do about nothing. I could get out similar quotes out of Teabagger mouths. You do know the difference between some saying "acting like" and outright calling someone a name correct? Or did your mommy and daddy waste their money on you at BG?
