Putting America out of business

Whether you think our pollution causes climate change or if we just make things dirtier and more unhealthy for us all the end conclusion should be the same. We need to cut down on how much crap we put into the air/ground/water.
Why should we? Third world countries don't abide by pollution rules. Beijing pollutes the crap out of the air. But we Americans apparently are cool with it....under the guise of "free trade" and all. We continue to buy their crap...at discounted prices.

Until corporate America starts flashing some patriotic stripes....and says no to all those foreign countries that are complicit in ruining our economy, I say screw the clean air and clean water banter.

Just another example of the American citizenry being hoodwinked by those really controlling the wealth of the planet.

    Pants,

If you want to believe that the government just has the best interests of Americans at heart and is not really after the money of it all....that is your right to do so.

Me? No even a little bit.

    Follow the money.

That answers all your questions regarding this massive hoax.

My point was laced with obvious sarcasm that flew over your head. As for personal attacks...what personal attack?

My point is very clear. If the US has any interest at all in competing internationally, then other countries need to abide by the same business rules (in regards to pollution/safety/wages et al) as the US and Europe does.

    Hmmm....

Wonder what Byrd and Rockefeller have to say about this? ^^^

I never understood WV's love affair with those two. They keep re-electing them, but what have they done for them, lately?
    ......

At any rate, they start directly/indirectly shutting down mines, and they're gonna have a hellfire storm coming after them!

Take a drive through WV. You will see Robert Byrd highway here, Robert Byrd bridge there, all in honor of the pork that he brings home.

Yeah, I know! Who needs water lines and sewage when you can have a "THEY CALL ME BIG DADDY" bridge?!?

In a sidebar story to that idea, I have an former in-law who used to work for Simco-Peabody Coal Company when they had a huge mining operation in Coshocton County.

The company used to employ hundreds at very good salaries and benefits. Yet these pro-union twits kept voting in the very eco-nazis (like Al Gore) who eventually regulated them out of jobs.

To this day the man still thinks the Dems are "for the working man."

It's that very same bizarre mindset in West Virginia that keeps sending the Byrd's and Rockefeller's back to DC.

It's an amazing thing to watch.

Great Youtube videos by the way! Can you imagine what the media, Sharpton, and Jackson would have done if a white Republican senator had uttered the phrase "white n-word" on Fox News? But Byrd gets a free pass. He's a piece of work.

When this man finally moves on to "almost heaven", I hope the people of WV remove his name plaques from all the bridges and highways and re-name them the "We Were Duped Memorial Bridge and Highway."

Coal miners in West Virginia live much better and safer lives today due to unions. The mining industry continues to hang on down there.

People that crawl a half mile under ground deserve good money, safer working conditions, and great benefits.

Compare and contrast American mine workers with the Chinese mine workers....where nearly 100,000 people perish per year due to industrial "accidents". The Chinese send their kids into the mines...as opposed to sending them to high school. All the while paying the slave labor 50 cents an hour.

The artificially high profits due to worker human rights violations over there has allowed China in becoming the future economic power leader. But that's for another thread for discussion.

Another chapter in Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, he explains that the natural market should pay more..for labor that gets dirty and or works in unsafe conditions.

Whereby the United Mine Workers were laden with corruption, they helped in alleviated the mining companies wage fixers below the "natural wage" set through collusion of the mining companies.
