Time for the US to say goodbye to NATO?

I and many others may disagree with your take on how our nation projects its power, but you are not going to win anyone over by falsely claiming they do not care about lost American lives.
Not gonna go line by line....not worth my time. I will concede that our country has seen homeland wars....I should have acknowledged the wars of 150 years ago, but I didn't. I should have stated that since the end of the19th Century...or since the World War era, the US has never seen any carnage on our homeland....millions killed...entire cities destroyed et al.

But the statement referenced above is far from "idiotic". It is the damn truth. And you know it. I ask again....how many on these boards are aware of the fact that 5 US servicemen were killed last week in Iraq? The answer is probably nobody. How many people take a few minutes daily to follow what is happening there...or in Pakistan? or Afghanistan? Or Libya? Or who is still hell bent on bombing Iran? Or Syria for that matter?

Your standard response is the same as pretty much everyone else. "The world is inherently evil, so we must have our wars". That's fine. If you like the carnage, just say so. But if you fall in line with the pro hegemony crowd, then I would suggest to you....never, ever, ever, cite the forefathers of our country for their beliefs, what they said when they put pen to paper, and what they wanted our country to be. Because Washington, Jefferson, Adams and the whole bunch of them, were anti everything you so proudly promote....as it relates to foreign policy.

When it comes to these Middle Eastern invasions and occupations, the media and the politicians lie through their teeth. The masses blindly follow because of pure apathy. They have their own lives to live....and don't give a flying fvck regarding the personal tragedies these wars cause...both here and abroad.

So I ask the board once again. Did Obama not pull all the troops out of Iraq? Yes or no? Did he or didn't he? Did the US not claim victory and only leave "advisors" there? Yes or no? So where is the media.....when all of these dead GI's make the internet publications....but nary a peep in the Wall Street Journal? Or the Washington Times? Or the New York Times? Or the San Fran Chronicle?

It's not there, because the media and the masses don't care. That is why it's not there. And what about the fiascos in Afghan/Pakistan? Where's the outrage from the same outlets? Where are they? They are nowhere to be found for the exact same reason.

We spend 100 billion per year or so....money we don't have.....chasing down approximately 100 nomadic terrorists that have absolutely no means of attacking us...but we whip out our dicks and stroke it to the GWOT. Bin Ladin is dead....who cares?

    Nobody does. That's who.

Those "europussies" laugh there ass off at the ignorance. You want to compare and contrast the number of Europeans killed in wars versus the US' troops killed? The ratio is astounding. Just more proof that the Joe citizen of the present day US has not a fvucking clue...not even one. And to think that you served in the military. Some really sad commentary there, Believer.

In what century? You do realize we live in 2011, right? That was one weird post, even for you.

Talk about weird posts. Care to explain what the hell you're talking about? What does 2011 have to fo with my post? But congratulations on learning how to use the quote feature. Seems to me the bankers/investment people are finally going high tech with their computer skills, LOL.

You care to comment on the content of my posts? I didn't think so.

How much time and money have you donated to the Ohio Fallen Heroes project? CFSRF? Wounded Warriors?
I have donated plenty...both in time and money....because I do care. To more organizations that I can even count. So how about you...care to comment on the 5 dead soldiers last week? Or....didn't you know about them?

How many times have you written to your Congressman voicing concern about the failed policies in the Middle East? How many? You still spend double digit hours slappin you keyboard weekly here....why don't you use your time on more important things?

And by the way...donating to the effects and not the cause may make you feel all good and fuzzy, but by doing so, you have done nothing to solve the underlying root of the problem.

Then how about giving me your take on Obama
's declaration of victory in Iraq....and the "total and complete" withdrawal of our troops over there. Our troops continue to get killed in that country. Care to comment? Or don't you care enough to research it and explain your take?

Well are you talking about fatalities today, or in the 17th century? Obviously the latter would lean towards Europe, given that the U.S. didn't even exist then. Is that comment enough re the content, or lack thereof of whatever point you're trying to make.

2 more US troops killed in Iraq. That makes 9 for the month of June so far. Thankfully Barry pulled them all out last year and declared the Iraq war a victory.. Doesn't matter, I'm going to the mall and to watch a movie anyhow.

You don't read very well now do you? I said post 19th Century above. Now would you like for me to google the numbers for you? Yaeh...those europussies sure were a yellow, cowardly bunch.

It sucks, but a SOFA is in place and I's rather they stick to that as they have agreed. And yes I knew about it.
How many times have you written to your Congressman voicing concern about the failed policies in the Middle East? How many?
    A few. Not for a while though. Doesn't mean I don't care.

It has nothing to do with "warm and fuzzy" I lost a very good friend of mine in Iraq and ever since then I have felt like it was my duty to help the families of fallen soldiers and to help memorialize them.

So once again, your post is completely ridiculous, and completely false.

Well I think you meant 20th century, but that's giving you too much credit. The issue is it has no bearing on 2011 - unless you think Pierre in France is still thinking about WWI....he isn't.

Speaking of asses, I could give a rat's ass what the Europussies think of me or any American.

The only thing we're ignorant of is spending trillions of American dollars liberating their asses from their own asinine world wars, subsequently rebuilding their countries, and finally keeping their "peace" so they can slosh around like hogs in their socialist "utopias" and critique Americans for being ignorant.

In truth the sad commentary is that ignorant Americans like myself have served our country to allow arrogant self-righteous elitists like you blow smoke up our asses.

I know that you spend an incredible amount of time on this site. You monitor the poli boards......you are all over the basement threads.....not to mention serious business and more. That's your call on how you piss away your time. But I also know that you post erroneous information regarding posters' IP addresses. For that, you owe several people here apologies....but you've never been man enough to do so.

You served your country and have reaped all the government hand outs that come with serving. You have even stated that the free education was quite the windfall. You bitch and moan constantly about government handouts, but nary a peep about the social programs that fund your own personal agenda.

But the hypocracy of the "elitest" right winged nationalists never ceases to amaze me.

The truth hurts....and the truth is.....all of our soldiers in the Middle East are not fighting for American freedom...as your ilk love to spew. Those that fight over there have been duped by the mass hysteria propogated by a band of neoconservatives that are more interested in lining their pockets, then the spilled blood of American kids. And the charade continues. Many. many on the right have now come to terms in how wrong their mindsets were. A full 50% of Republicans now believe that an immediate draw down in Afghanistan is good foreign policy for our ailing country. Pretty amazing development from a collective group that used to describe such policy as pro "appeasement" or far, far worse.

I state my opinion on US international intervention, world empire, premptive war strikes and such, and you lose your cool and start calling me names, because my opinion differs from yours.

Is George Will a man you would call a "arrogant, self righteous elitist"? How about Walter Williams? Pat Buchanan?

The aforementioned conservatives share my views...as it relates to never ending foreign wars.

I joined the military in part because I needed the GI Bill to be able to afford college. So in exchange for 9 years of service, Uncle Sam agreed to underwrite my education. That's not a handout...that's a simple contract.

Now when people get money from the Feds for doing NOTHING, then it's a handout. Even you should be smart enough see the difference.
