Yeah, like the guy on my Facebook who posted the other day that Obama was trying to cut the debt and the Republicans wouldn't let him. Also here is a post from one of the former social studies teachers who taught at the high school I went to.
Great job, Tea Party and Republicans. You managed to destroy the US economy in less than 2 years. Your 18th century ideology is the best thing that ever happened to the rich and powerful. Big Business can do no wrong, the rich get richer and the working class get screwed. Remember when Michelle Bachman said of warnings of economic disaster if the Tea Party got their way, "...I don't believe that will happen..." Well, Michelle, you can believe it now. -
BigdoggInteresting article from Michele Bachmann's home state newspaper. My guess is the more people who really look into her background, the further she will fall in the polls. Speaking in tongues? Really?
http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/128131968.htmlEnvironment at Oral Roberts
What's clear from the record is that Bachmann brought deeply held religious values and legal training from outside the mainstream to her career, values shaped during her unusual law school experience at Oral Roberts.
"It was a real shocker for me to show up and hear people speak in tongues in chapel,'' said Burnetti, Bachmann's classmate. " It was a very exceptional place to go to school.''
He described a "Pentecostal'' campus resplendent with Oral Roberts' Christ's Chapel and the 200-foot-tall Prayer Tower. Many faculty members were devout Christians, and certain classes mixed biblical values with legal principles, Burnetti said. Home schooling and the right to life were two of the hottest causes. -

Is this any thing like the environment in Jeremiah Wright's church? Just sayin.Bigdogg;871113 wrote:Interesting article from Michele Bachmann's home state newspaper. My guess is the more people who really look into her background, the further she will fall in the polls. Speaking in tongues? Really?

WriterbuckeyeBachmann's views on too many things are "out there" just enough that the media was always going to skewer her out of the campaign. Honestly, I don't have a problem with that because I find her a bit odd, and wouldn't vote for her under most cases.
That said, she and the other candidates not named Obama don't deserve the rectal exams they'll be getting from a media desperate to make anyone running against their chosen one look worse than him (a tough task these days). They went to great lengths to get him elected; they don't want to see it all fall apart in four years, no matter how bad a job he's done.
So long as the final GOP candidate is named Romney or Perry, I'm good to go. I'm assuming Christy nor Ryan will be running, because I'd be fine voting for either of them, also. -

Well stated.
I find it quite odd that Oral Roberts University, which has been around for decades, is now some looney bin and devout Christians can't be trusted. How did we get to this point? -
bigdaddy2003I can't believe no one commented on what I posted about the former teacher's comments or are you guys just not shocked a teacher would have a liberal thought? Ha

Was that the original thought of another moron, or was it lifted from the NEA playbook because the moron is incapable of an original thought? -

Ha sounds like a liberal talking point to me. I'm pretty shocked he thinks like that. I would have never guessed in school that he was an ideologue. -

Everyone who runs for President has a microscope shoved up their ass, as should be. Are you really trying to claim Obama was not subject to the same? If there was anything including the stupid birther claims that was not reported by the media then Hillery would have found them and she would be the current President.
As for Oral Roberts, if it is common belief that speaking in tongues is perfectly acceptable belief, and any Presidential candidate believes this is okay, then they are not fit to hold the office of Dog catcher. I have never heard of this being reported by your so called "main stream media". It was reported by a newspaper in her home state. To my knowledge it has not been reported anywhere else. How you explain this? We call all put this to rest of your boys at FOX ask her. -
fish82And yet...she's pulled within 4 points of Obama. I almost hope she wins just to watch you people's collective heads explode.

You bet your whiny liberal ass I am. He experienced nothing of the sort DURING the campaign. He was given, by far, the easiest questions to answer in so-called interviews, and the photography of him was disgusting -- so much of it framing him in ways that made him look almost god-like, with halos surrounding him.
Even now, when he fucks up, he's rarely called to task by the MSM. Stuff he or his minions spew that the press would be all over if it were a conservative gets all but ignored.
With an economy in the tank as this one has been, and the huge failure of the stimulus, and how bills were pushed through without giving people time to read and digest them -- all of that would have been lambasted by the press if it had been conservatives pushing it. Since it was Obama, he got a pass.
Just like he'll continue to get a pass on his lousy record when we have the presidential interviews and debates. They'll continue to frame the mess we have as something he had no hand in creating...just as they've done so far. -

The liberal outrage would definitely be something to see. Cannot disagree with you there. Personally I think I'm ready for a president who isn't so polarizing. Although I've made the case (unconvincingly on here) that Barry isn't really a hardcore lib....he certainly is perceived that way and the right simply can't stand the man. And as it stands, it appears to me that all the Pub candidates except maybe Romney or Huntsman would generate the same kind of feelings in the left that W did. It's been 10 years of one side of the aisle claiming the president is the worst thing since communism and I suppose I'd rather just avoid the rancor. -
BGFalcons82Not that I want her to run, but if Palin gets in, it helps Rick Perry.
The media will swarm all over her like bees to honey. They will froth at the mouth at the thought of taking her and Bachmann down. They will spend upteen millions in ripping her from limb to limb. I'm pretty sure she can take it and give it back in order to keep them in stitches. They'll spend time and energy they don't have looking for any particle of "batshit crazyness" they can find...or make up.
In the meantime, Rick Perry will be doing his thing essentially under the radar. His rectal exam will be half of what the others will be and he'll come through it all with nary a scratch.

I must have missed the part that said she herself was speaking in tongues. Oh wait, it didn't. So what's the problem? Is there an unwritten rule that says that anyone who sits in a classroom within 10 feet of an unacceptable person is permanently unfit to be President?Bigdogg;871113 wrote:Interesting article from Michele Bachmann's home state newspaper. Check out some of Jimmy Carter's statements and religious activities prior to becoming President. He was as outwardly evangelical as they come, yet he was accepted by liberal Democrats in '76. (Of course, his faith never translated into good policies, but that's another issue).
Couldn't help but notice this predictable talking point from the article:
The co-workers said that, for whatever reason, Bachmann didn't participate in the most intense work of the office: tangling with corporations and other big taxpayers in precedent-setting disputes tried before a judge in U.S. Tax Court
There you go: Bachmann and evil greedy corporations and rich people go hand-in-hand. -

While the media circle jerks around that scenario like Lenny & Squiggy on steroids, Perry and and his crew will have time to blow Romney out of the primary and then kick Barry out of his rental. -

I would suspect that the far left would like nothing better then to have Michele Bachmann on the Republican ticket, preferably with Palin also. That would make whoever they will be pushing much better. Nobody, not even you and Writer are more pissed off at Obama who has turned out to be a combination of both Bushs' then the far liberal left. -

I'm not pissed at Obama. Hell, I don't get pissed off at anybody...I have an inner peace that prevents it.
That said, I don't think he's in danger of going down in history as one of the all time greats. Call him what you want...socialist, centrist, whatever. He's a shitty POTUS either way.
