  Federal waste GAO report … wake up Politicians
  
  A report to be released by the GAO (General Accounting Office) requested by the 112 Congress will provide documentation of the waste of Federal spending and programs. This information and the suggest budget cuts will be difficult times for the Obama Administration.
  
  What I find funny is “We the People” all know about this wasteful spending and worthless programs and the Politician both sides act like this is some type of new revelation.

  It's so obvious there's waste and duplication (by the billions) in the federal government, yet we never, ever see any actions taken to reduce it.
  
  In Medicare/Medicaid alone, there are no doubt billions being scammed and/or wasted.
  
  That's why when Obama announced hiring 5,000 more IRS employees I could only shake my head and wonder at the logic of going after more taxpayers, when hiring an equal number of fraud investigators would probably more than pay for itself in the first six months (assuming they do their jobs well) and you wouldn't have to harass taxpayers in the process.
  
  Hell, hire the investigators at a base salary and tell them they get 5 percent of the total fraud they uncover in bonus pay. Those folks would make a helluva lot of money, but the taxpayers would end up the real winners.

  I talked to my Congressman the other day (Yes .. Belly does have connection) I mention that if Congress was serious about cutting then they have to demonstrate that seriousness by addressing Medicaid/Care, Welfare and SS fraud (prosecuting offenders) and employees in those departments (from the federal level to the local level) that have not preformed their jobs be fired.
  
  I suggested a fined fee program: "Turn in a fraud .. Credit on your taxes"

  I get audited almost every year and I pay ..big time every year.
  Does not matter what I do …. I pay the best accountant and the same old shit happens.
  Years ago I figured out that the tax rules are more like “guide line and not really rules” so I bend, twist and strain the guidelines. I have followed the rules and paid and now I pressure the rules and still pay but with a voice and an opportunity to justify my actions. I’m not a tax cheat just a citizen questioning the “guidelines”. Every year the IRS takes some and gives up some and every year we do the same thing … Do I bitch about it ..Yes but I will keep doing it because I can and it my right to challenge those who work for me…. Public Servants.
  
  If I knew of SS, Welfare, Medicaid/Care and Tax fraud .. Hell! Yes I would turn them in if I knew the government was going to do something about it and be serious about finding the truth. That would mean that the government would have to take responsibility of their action, be liable for incompetency, and legally accountable of fraudant accusations.
  
  If I could get a break on my taxes for being a good citizen ……….Why not?
  Is that not our legal right as law biding citizens … If you saw some stealing you just let them steal? What moral values is that?

  Of course not. My point is that, when we get into the business of neighbors turning other neighbors in for what they perceive to be cheating you are going to not only have a lot of unsubstantiated accusations flying around but you are also going to create hostility among those neighbors. Where does it end?

  If the possibility was to be anonymous via a website no body needs know … the government obligation is to follow up and verify and credit my tax returns if accusation proved to be viable.

  I don't like the government getting involved in pitting taxpayers against one another, either.
  
  Start with eliminating fraud in government programs first, then cut spending that isn't needed before you decide to use old Soviet secret police tactics to wring more out of taxpayers by getting them to rat out one another.
