The TSA Stupidity Thread.

Since for some reason the posts I made about how the TSA security is worthless haven't gotten any responses (wonder why that is) I thought I'd make a thread for all the TSA related stuff.

Simply put, scanners don't work, said international security expert Edward Luttwak.

In a test conducted in Europe, German prison guards were instructed to sneak explosives past three different scanners, including the full-body X-ray machine currently causing such a furor in the United States, Luttwak, a senior associate at the Center for International and Strategic Studies, said.

"They did it with such ease that the Air Travel Association, IATA, said there is no case for scanners," said Luttwak.

A high-level inspection of body scanners at the Delhi airport has thrown shocking results with the scanners failing to detect powerful explosives like RDX and PETN and other assault weapons.

A joint trial of the scanners was conducted by the Intelligence Bureau, CISF and other agencies and the findings have become a cause of worry for security agencies.

“It has emerged that any type of explosive or prohibited item concealed under cast of POP (plaster) could not be detected.

Further, small quantities of PEK/PETN/RDX (plastic explosives) kept concealed along the body’s contours could not be detected,” says a confidential government note, accessed by the Hindustan Times.

As we can see now, the scanners couldn't protect my pet fish, let alone a plane full of people. Anyone on here have a broken arm or leg? If so, you can potentially blow up a plane and the TSA wouldn't have a clue. Next time you are on a plane, watch out for the person wearing a cast. Makes you feel real safe, doesn't it?
