Sarah Palin:"We must support our North Korean allies"
-
Ty Webb"But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies. We're bound to by treaty," Palin said in her analysis, before being corrected by the show's co-host. "Yeah," Palin continued. "And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes."

And people would here would vote for this women for President? -
ptown_trojans_1I can't stand Palin, but this is petty. She spoke about the awful North Korean regime and its actions seconds before the gaffe. Simple mistake in an interview, when she obviously knew we had a treaty with South Korea.
Some of the best speakers and policymakers make occasion slips, I see it all the time. No biggie. I still can't stand her though. -

We elected the guy who said he's been to all 57 states, FWIW.
Palin herself is harmless. What never ceases to amaze me is the rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, constant obsession liberals have with every single thing she says or does. Politics have stooped to a new low with some of the things I've heard/read about her from the supposed party for the advancement of women. -

This is a simple gaffe?...the fucking women thought we were allies with NORTH KOREA...she is a blubering idiot who has no business in politics -
iclfan2I don't think anyone here would want her to win the Republican nomination. But you are sure as hell right I'd vote for her over your boy.
-
Ty WebbThen you are among the group that should have their voting right taken away....along with those who voted for Arnold

She is not in politics. She holds no political power. If you are so concerned with idiots in politics there are plenty to be had that actually hold political power. And if your looking for idiot women Maxine Waters would be an excellent place to start and she hold political power.Ty Webb;579970 wrote:This is a simple gaffe?...the fucking women thought we were allies with NORTH KOREA...she is a blubering idiot who has no business in politics -

No chief. Did you hear her whole interview? She knew we were against North Korea and she meant to say South Korea. She mentioned several times the horrible acts of North Korea. Simple gaffe. She is an idiot, but I at least got what she meant. Simple gaffe. Move on, she does this.
If she did this in a scripted address or an article, I'd be more upset, but not in a radio interview. -

No one as long as they are legally able to vote, should have their voting rights taken away. -
iclfan2
If that is the case so should everyone who voted for Obama. So she said North Korea, who cares. She is nothing, an analyst with a new reality TV show. Get over the fear that the Dems have of her and worry about your little community organizer who is in way over his head.Ty Webb;579976 wrote:Then you are among the group that should have their voting right taken away....along with those who voted for Arnold -

Around here it is hard to tell if you are joking. -
CenterBHSFanCan somebody, anybody, explain to me exactly WHY Sarah Palin is an idiot?
I know that descriptions gets thrown at her all the time, but what is she so idiotic at, in particular? If we were going to do some comparisons (as far as misspeaking), then our President/Vice President are both in big time trouble. -
ptown_trojans_1IMHO it is the fact she cannot articulate clear, indepth policy issues. She mainly sticks to bolierplate, broad politic answers and when pressed into specifics, either dodges or ignores the substance issue.
If she spent more time learning the nuts and bolts and guts of policy issues, and articulate those issues in a coherent fashion, she could be a real force in politics.
But, I think she is still very rough on the issues and will take some years to develop those. If she ran in 2016, I think she would gain real favor in the party and the country. -
Manhattan Buckeye"Can somebody, anybody, explain to me exactly WHY Sarah Palin is an idiot? "
Because she's a woman, and the Democrats have a gender issue, a major gender issue with women that don't fall into the groupthink line.
I love how PTown routinely calls her an idiot but likely voted for a VEEP that has to be dumber (PTown you can correct me if I'm wrong) - If Joe Biden has an IQ above 100 I'd be shocked. He went to a shit law school, cheated his way through it and is a gaffe-a-matic embarassment to this country.
I mean seriously, how is she dumber than Biden? -

It was mainly due to Biden has a longer history and track record on foreign policy issues than does Palin. Biden, while I disagreed on some issues with him articulated a rather deep solution to the Iraq civil war in 2007 (break up the country in 3 pieces) Now, it was unwise and COIN and the surge were better options, but was not some broad idea. It had a rational for it.
Also, Biden was chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. You do get to that chair by being an idiot. You get there by knowing foreign policy issues. -
Manhattan BuckeyeHe had a chair because he is a Senator from a state that is one of the few states crazy enough to elect him, and keep electing him. He's the Robert Byrd of Delaware. He's the type of politician that created the so-called "tea party" movement. He's a beltway insider that likely couldn't get a job managing a fast food location. It is this type of politician that has the general public angry with Washington, and IMO it is about time.
At some point even the true believers have to realize that our elected leaders aren't that smart (and to start another thread, a lot of the academic class isn't that smart either - or at least hopelessly naive). We have a political class bubble that appears to be increasingly more cognitive dissonant by the moment, despite the '10 election. -

No moron, she didn't think we were allies with N. Korea, she misspoke and that was the gaffe. If you'd shut the fuck up for 5 minutes and listen or read the entire interview, you'd see she was referencing the North and South (Korea) properly the entire time.
Jesus Christ, I don't even like Sarah Palin but it seems I have to defend her (or at least explain her speaking mistakes) to ignorant blind followers. -
hoops23Oh look at this, more bickering between the bloods and crips.
This is why American government, and politics in general, are so fucked up. -
cbus4lifeThis is beyond idiotic.
I was waiting for Ty Webb to start this thread...didn't think it would take this long, though, but i knew it would come from him.
For the record, this is one liberal who thinks this is beyond petty. Just a simple gaffe, just like Obama has had many gaffes, and just like Biden has, and Bush, for that matter. Nice to laugh at, but not really worth drawing any broad conclusions from. -

fish82The really interesting thing here is the fact that the media is treating this as actual news, when Biden does shit like this twice a week.

But you see, this thread is about how Gibster hates Sarah Palin. It's not about how the leftist media picks and chooses what's newsworthy based on the right-wing "gaffe-of-the-day." -
