Media waking–up to the failure of.......Obama

  • Belly35
Could it be that the National Media is waking-up and willing to view the Public Servant Obama Administration for what it is ….failure?

HOW IS THAT OBAMA CHANGE WORKING OUT FOR YOU NOW

MORE CHANGE LESS CHANGE FOR YOU

I think there were alot of excellent and on-the-mark points made in that video. And it all boils down to the same thing, the honeymoon is over. Now it is the time to start viewing things in a realistic manner, instead of the whole "I got a crush on Obama" schoolgirl mentality that the media has had for the past year. Which, BTW, I think even the most staunch Obama supporters can readily say that Obama has been the media BFF.

    *Point of interest.
I liked the fact that one of those reporters made it very clear that he/WE should be expecting more out of the people we vote into office than what we expect out of folks like Glenn Beck.
  • Writerbuckeye
Well, since the media all but abdicated their role as watchdog when they hitched their collective wagons to the Obama star...yes, this is a bit of a sea change.

Will it lead to anything resembling actual hold-his-feet-to-the-fire journalism like we saw with the Bush administration and every other Republican office holder?

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the answer is yes.

    Oh and one other thing...

SHAME on those media folks who went to this state dinner like they were Hollywood celebs. Shame, shame, shame on them.

They have no business going as "guests" to this type of affair and still call themselves journalists.

If they were there working to cover it (and obviously the ones we saw were not), that's one thing; but it's a ridiculous conflict of interest to accept a dinner invite from the President when you spend your working hours covering him as a supposed objective journalist.

Belly....we haven't had a "public servant" in the White House for about a century. Please reconsider your nomenclature to reflect today's reality.

As with presidents 30 through 45...they can more accurately be depicted as de facto "mega corporate" servant.
  • Footwedge
Obama will leave office and graded out as one of the worst presidents ever. I said that before he was elected. If McCain had been elected, he also would have graded out as one of the worst presidents ever.

The unemployment rate in the US is 3 to 4 times higher here than it is in countries that are primarliy state run such as Cambodia, Vietnam, and China.

If LJ would like a source, I'll be happy to look it up and provide one.

I believe that the recovery of our economy must begin with a revived interest in creating a global competitive market here. As long as foreign countries are complicit in artificially deflating a "natural" earning wage for these workers, our country will continue it's path towards "banana Republic" status.

Going to make it difficult for Republicans to blame the loss in 2012 on the media again.

Not so sure. The Republicans are dismantling the party at this point and hopefully we see a third party play spoiler once again.

It is a sad cycle though. Speaks poorly of how educated Americans actually are.
  • CenterBHSFan
I could care less if the republican party dissolves. I could care less at this point of my disappointment in the democratic party, if it dissolves also.

In fact, I think those things NEED to happen. Or at the very least, have a meltdown and restructure themselves.
As it stands, neither party ain't worth their weight in sewage.

    ^^^^THIS....

And Eers, when did a "third party" ever truly play a significant "spoiler" role in presidential politics?

    Ralph Nader?
    John Anderson? (ind)
    Ron Paul?

The Two-Party system is so entrenched, so ingrained, and so well financed that a VIABLE third party in this country would be nothing short of a political miracle.

Personally I would love to see it but.........

To answer this question: I went to Europe in September, and I wasn't embarrassed to admit I was American, which I would have been anytime under GW's regime. The entire World realizes that our country will prevail now that Bush is in our rearview mirror, but dullards like Belly continue to spew their drivel.

I gave GW 4 years to make his mark. When he failed miserably, I voted for John Kerry, and never got my wish -- however, based on seeing one COMPLETE Bush term, I had fodder to criticize his presidency.

Having this much hatred for a president less than one year into his term reflects either (1) stupidity (which is probably the case here) or (2) bigotry (not saying you are, but many are, including several of my Ohio counterparts).

Reminder Belly: Obama is much smarter than you. His team is much smarter than you. Somehow, I think we will be ok.

Seriously...what the hell kind of nonsense is this? Prevail? Prevail on what? Talk about spewing drivel.

Stupidity is a matter of perspective. Some of us prefer not to bury our heads up BHO's ass. Bigotry? Oh yes, one of the tried a true tactics from the left: If you can't win them over with your point of view play the race card.

So, if I don't like President Obama (which I don't), I have to be either stupid or a bigot?
    Are you friggen serious?
Also, just how smart do you think Obama is?
    - is it because he accomplished absolutely nothing as a senator?
    - is it because he has ran a successful business? (he hasn't but Belly does, FYI)
    - Belly doesn't have much typing skills, but I've never saw where he's posted that there are 57 states.

I could seriously go on and on, but I think your remarks make enough fun of themselves that they don't need help.
    Good gawd...

I understand completely with your sentiment.

But, i must say, i've heard countless times on the politics board how Obama supporters are also just sheep, uneducated, lazy, etc., so it certainly goes both ways.

And, i think Obama's education speaks to the fact that he is at least "smart."

I know that most people think it is worthless and seemingly despise him for having worked hard and received an education at some of the top universities in the world, but he does have that.

But, i'm going to be crucified for bringing it up, anyways.

I know that his education alone isn't enough to make him a good president, but the people that completely dismiss it are ridiculous.

Bush has an Ivy League MBA, and somehow he's a drooling retard. You do the math.
  • cbus4life
    I know.

    It wasn't fair then, either.

I always thought Bush was a smart dude and was doing what he thought was best for this country, despite not agreeing with him on a lot.
  • CenterBHSFan
    Cbus,

I appreciate and actually agree with what you're saying. Here's my ultimate question(s) regarding this, though.

Can Belly's posts stand by theirselves or does somebody elses posts have to hold hands?
Can BigApple's post stand by itself or does it have to hold hands with somebody else's?

Now, I totally understand that we've all come to the conclusion that often times you cannot have one without the other.
BUT. At some point and time, what people say or post have to stand on their own merit. This applies to everyday living, politics and message boards.

What BigApple posted represents everything I'm disgusted with by my own chosen political party. I don't care what the republican party represents because I don't align myself with it - even though I have voted for republicans in the past, that has nothing to do with it.
This is totally where the democratic party is right now and it makes me sick. BigApple is paying lip-service to it.
If you disagree with the democratic party and/or President Obama and his administration, you are:
    - stupid
    - bigot/racist
    - astroturf
    - liar
    - republican
    - and so on and so on.

I'm sure that even YOU, Cbus, can see what's going on here.

Do we need yet more reasons for people to say that today's democrats have an "ELITIST" mentality?!?
  • cbus4life
I see what is going on, most certainly, and not much i can do about it. All i can take comfort in is knowing that myself, fiancee, and others i know who are decidedly democrat try not to act that way.

All i can really do, of course.

But, i think that the whole "if you don't agree with me you're this" mentality goes for both sides.

We just call each other different things. :D
  • fish82
Most of the chicks call me "Space Mountain," which I find cool.
  • CenterBHSFan
Cbus - I'm not blaming you, I hope you don't think that! Nor do I think you can "CHANGE" (see what I did there?) it.

    .................

    Fish, umm...Space Mountain? hmm...

CenterBHSfan, I respect your post, and after re-reading my original rant I would like to tip my cap to your retort: I was off base, and I apologize.

This is what happens when you post on Free Huddle after a shitty day at work. My absolute disdain for Belly's entire philosophy can cloud my opinions, never more obvious than in my previous post. It is rare for me to recant, but when it's justified, I have no problem doing so. Well said CenterBHSfan ...
