    Highlights:
That means Khadr could be free by age 32, if not earlier under Canadian parole provisions.
Jurors were told only that Guantánamo's youngest captive had pleaded guilty to five war crimes, including hurling the grenade that mortally wounded Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Speer, 28, during a July 2002 assault on an al Qaeda compound. Khadr was 15.
The Toronto-born Khadr also admitted that, in the days ahead of his capture, he planted mines intended to maim or kill U.S. and allied forces.
    And here is the kicker:
``I hope he will be rehabilitated in the future,'' Murphy said.
My opinion of the article: Our country is all sorts of screwed up. Not only should they just have killed him on the spot, but sending him back to Canada and basically giving him a slap on the wrist is ABSURD!

Khadr is a member of the religion of peace. I expect him to sponsor a mosque...oops...I mean community center...near the home of his victim's family to show his true "remorse".

Big difference between this kid and a large majority of Muslims. I would disagree that this kid is a true follower of Islam.

Anyways, this is tough. He is a kid and there is no real way to treat kids that are forced to be soldiers pretty much. I can see both sides of the argument, but the kid should serve time + time already served, then be closely monitored and encouraged to be fully integrated into society. It is sad this kid's childhood was taken away.

Canada is so soft on crime.

Sorry, ptown. He threw grenades to kill Americans and practiced terrorism. The kid in DC that shot innocents from his car (John Mohammed I think was his name...) got life and his adult "partner" got executed for murdering innocent people. How does giving an avowed terrorist 8 lousy freakin years for being a radical terrorist discourage such actions from others?

I was being somewhat flippant with the mosque...oops again...I mean community center comment. But isn't that where we are? If he can find a piece of properly zoned property near Ms. Speer's place, he can drive home his religious freedom down her throat.

With our budget shortfall, I think it's time to send our Canuck friends an invoice for us protecting their ass. They've lived off our defense budget forever. Time to pay for your protection, les habitantes.

Excellent full-page ad in today's USA Today ripping obama for failure to grasp, articulate, and label terror threats.

Your opinion of people like this piece of scum who kill Americans
I Wear Pants wrote: So we have the right to just run roughshod over anyone and they are automatically the bad guys for using gorilla/brutal tactics that are their only real way to fight. We are too large an enemy for almost any single country to fight. Is everyone just supposed to bow to our will then?
