Doctors for Patient Care
-

"Attempting to enact his big-government health care scheme, President Obama and his supporters frequently claimed that a “majority” of doctors supported his health-care plans. When the American Medical Association – which had opposed HillaryCare – signed onto Obama’s plan last year, the organization seemed to make the President’s case. Most people assumed that the AMA represented most of the doctors in the country. But in fact, the AMA represents less than 20 percent of all physicians in the United States. And yet as the organization’s leadership moved more to the left, it held a near monopoly on media attention on issues pertaining to public health. No longer."
It is good to see doctors finally coming out of the closet on obamaKare.

This disastrous and tyrannical legislation can be overturned; please join in with the doctors and do your part to see that through. November cannot arrive soon enough. -
ptown_trojans_1I'd like to know how the R's expect to overturn it, especially in the Senate? Also, how do you override a probable veto?

Can you be more specific?
Not saying the will of the people is a bad thing, just doesn't really explain how they will do it.
How will the R's stop one D Senator from filibustering or a group of Senators from not voting for cloture on a measure?
How will the R's ensure enough votes to override a veto, which is a rarity? -
ptown_trojans_1
Ok, tell me how they will do it.
That is the most important part of the whole thing.
It is one thing to say repeal it, it is another to provide a strategy and plan on how to do it.
I fail to see the plan. -
BGFalcons82Up until now, Obama/Reid/Pelosi could care less about what America thinks, regardless of the polling.
Up until now, these 3 decided that they know best and will create laws for Americans that are in their best interests, regardless of the polling.
Up until now, these 3 have overseen the writing of 2000+ page bills with the statement that they must be passed or the country will fail, regardless of the polling.
Up until now, the Dems in control of the Congress and White House have thumbed their noses at polling data and said Americans should be thankful for their knowledge and perseverance in getting legislation passed.
There's a real important poll on November 2 coming up. These elitists and their minions in Congress will now have to face the people they've been spitting on for 20 months and beg for their blessing and votes as they now disavow any association with socialized medicine, Cap-N-Trade taxation, bailouts of unions/teachers/SEIU/etc., and unguarding our borders.
Ptown...you asked how it could be done to un-do ObamaKare. The people are going to yell, scream and fire those that passed such egregious programs in less than 5 weeks. That's all it will take to get the attention of the remaining dipshits that passed socialized medicine. I think the narcissist Obama will veto anything repealing his legacy to America, but the people will not stand behind him and he'll face the political guillotine in 2012 if he doesn't reform his health care disaster. Quaker is correct...the will of the people has been tested by the elites for 20 months and they are about to face their bosses on November 2. Step aside Barry, here comes change Americans can believe in. -
IggyPride00Obamacare will most likely never be repealed as the odds that the Republicans can manage to get control of the House, 60 seats in the Senate, and the White House at the same time in the next few years are terribly slim. That is the only scenario in which Obamacare is ever repealed.
Besides, I wouldn't be so sure BHO would mind if Republicans took over all of Congress this year as it would guarantee his re-election as it did for Clinton after the wave of 94.
There is no better cure for an unpopular president than an obstructionist majority foil to blame everything on in Congress. Slick Willy laid out the ground rules to that playbook to perfection and it saved his presidency. At this point a similar happening this year may be the only thing that ultimately can save BHO from political doom in 2012. -

Ok, so the R's should just wait for the people and then hope that the D's in the Senate fall in line? Really, that is the strategy? Pretty lame if you ask me.
How about, the R's put together a point by point strategy and plan where they list every aspect of the bill that needs repealed and link it to a specific D Senator. Then, how about they work with D's in the Senate to offer suggestions on compromises where once the bill is repealed some D ideas are adopted in a new measure. Because we need a better alternative to tackle Medicare and Medicaid.
That sounds like a better strategy than just hoping the voters suddenly, magically force some D's to vote to repeal the measure.
If the R's are going to repeal it, they need a real solution that will not continue the current Medicare/ Medicaid mess. If they want to lead, lead. Give me policy options and a real strategy.
To broaden this out, if the R's take over the House, I want them to really offer policy options and real strategy and ideas for the future. Simply saying no to the President all the time is not an option anymore. If they take the House and close to the Senate, I'll want a Republican party that is full of actual concrete solutions to the problems of this country. Rhetoric and general ideas only get you so far. -
cosmosprivateerThis will never be repealed it keeps most of our health dollars in the Insurance companies hands.
Works out perfect for both sides. -
QuakerOatsRepeal it, and then enact the few necessary changes that will make a real difference, but will not upset the entire apple cart. Just today, our company is now faced with having to decide whether to make retroactive plan changes in order to retain grandfathered plan status according to a long litany of new and garbled regulations; or whether to forgo the revocations, lose grandfathered status, and be forced to immediately begin complying with the newest changes under obamaKare effective 9/23. This will now require a significant and immediate study of the pros and cons of going either way and the cost/benefit analysis (whoops can't be a cost/benefit done because there is no benefit side to this equation). What a wonderful waste of time and effort when we shold be focusing on remaining competitive and survival. Either way, our costs are going up --------- isn't that special.
As I have said numerous times, it is not just the worst piece of legislation ever enacted, but the 2400 page document that no representative read will also require OVER 3,000,000 MILLION PAGES OF NEW REGULATIONS. We are killing ourselves. -

Sorry, no D Senator will ever agree to that. You are going to have to offer a real solution and alternative than just saying, repeal it and then let's figure out a replacement. The two would have to be done at the same time. -

Ok. Maybe not, But, you cannot repeal it without having a solid plan in place to go ahead on that moderate D's and the President will agree to. That is my point. What is the replacement? That is what I really want to know and how do they plan to implement it?
Simply saying the people will rise up and demand change (sounds familiar right?) is not a good policy option. -

Wouldn't need a lot of replacements. Wouldn't need to even have a plan of any sort, either.
As Obama and his political sheep have shown, all it takes is pork/earmarks to get the votes. -

Ahh, but R's are now the party against Pork. So, would they give up that idea in order to repeal the healthcare? -

IggyPride00Obamacare or no Obamacare, as long as the U.S citizens are put in the position of serving as the personal cash register for all healthcare related companies to supplement lost profits on the rest of the world we are going to have a healthcare price inflation problem.
I don't know what exactly the answer to the problem is, but I do know that the current system of offering a blank check to the healthcare sector while every other government in the world is rationing and using price controls is a recipe for continued cost pain on the part of our citizens.
Rationing and price controls stifle innovation, but at the same time this country is broke and the old blank check ask no questions pricing model we have used in this country for the past 50 years is not going to be financially sustainable much longer.
As long as multi-nationals can charge $50 here for a pill or device they are only allowed to charge $5 for in the rest of the world, there is no scenario in which our healthcare costs can ever be brought under control no matter how "free" our market is. The rest of the world isn't going to suddenly offer to help pay for the advances we are footing the bill for, and medical companies are not going to stop using the American people to supplement lost profit margins as long as the rest of the world keeps a lid on prices through government control.
This is the real problem no one wants to talk about. If we ration care and prices innovation dies, but if we don't we eventually bankrupt ourselves by serving as the healthcare industries personal cash register to make back lost profit margins from the rest of the world.
The person who can figure out how to deal with that conundrum is the one I want to hear from because that is the real root cause of runaway price inflation we have increasingly seen in that sector. -

I can understand the yearly cap on coverage I guess as it is meant to be cheap and not a comprehensive plan, but the thing about waiving the rule to make sure $.80 cents of every dollar collected goes to medical care has me shaking my head. The companies are seeking exemptions from two health-law mandates. One requires plans to spend at least 80 percent of member premiums on medical care. The other bans companies from capping yearly coverage for each worker. Mini-med programs are designed to offer a low-cost way to cover part-time employees with limited benefits.
Health insurance companies are nothing but a middle man to transfer money from A to B, if they can't function on 20% of all premiums collected for overhead they should probably be in another business. -

The words of the prophet Nancy Pelosi are coming true: "We have to pass the bill first, so you can find out what's in it."McDonald’s letter is “exactly the type of publicity the administration and the Democrats do not want heading into the November elections,” Gurda wrote.
“The political risk of large companies and/or states threatening the loss of health insurance coverage is something the administration will want to avoid, and as a result, we believe waivers aren’t going to be that difficult to receive.”
Guess what Nancy, we're finding out more about what's in it every day, and you're going to reap the political consequences.
