Oh come on, I was joking. I live about 10 blocks from the Discovery Building just inside DC. It was a scary thing, but he was one crazy Mofo and not an accurate representation of the environmental movement. Just like an abortion bomber is not a representative to the anti-abortion movement.

YOU know that, but when it does happen to be someone who has even a few conservative views (while others may be extremely left-wing) the media tends to pigeon hole them and generalize it to all folks who are conservative. We've seen it happen too many times.

Exactly. Hence when wacko kook leftists pull stunts like this and the "mainstream" media largely ignores them, it's not surprising conservatives feel a need to remind everyone of these inconsistencies with our self-described "objective" 4th Estate.

Well, not sure about nationally, but locally, the media focused on how crazy the guy was and his previous protests as well as the author of one of the books he used distancing himself from him.

I see....The media and Al Gore in CYA mode, eh?

Or they just think that holding someone at gunpoint is crazy? Doesn't have to be a big media conspiracy on everything.

We're talking about the act of this one leftist kook. We're - yes once again - pointing out the hypocrites in your liberal media. It's always worth repeating. :p
  • I Wear Pants
Hypocrites because this was the top news story and everyone was in agreement that he was a psycho?

Because believer and the Discovery channel wacko both have something in common....... delusions

Missed the Glenn Beck Rally .... I was out buying ammo, more weapons and flags
  • I Wear Pants
That sounds like a fun shopping time Belly.

Don't tell me you forgot the beef jerky and camo gear though?

You are in serious need of mental help Belly...

You've been saying for almost 2 years that your guns are going to be taken away....If it was going to happen..why hasn't it yet Belly?

Belly is proof that they need to screen people who buy weapons better and there should be a limit placed on how many you can have
  • I Wear Pants
While I agree that anyone thinking the guns are getting taken away is misinformed you (Ty Webb) missed the point.

I'm pretty sure Belly was joking, using the stereotype that a really liberal person might apply to a conservative person and saying he was doing those things. I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

No...Belly is just being the uninformed radical conservative he is

I don't bitch much about the media since Al Gore invented the internet. There are plenty of good media sources out there just a mouse click away. And if I want to see points of view on the left and right I can just as easily find them.

That being said if some kook had just finished reading Rush Limbaugh's book and ran into the ACLU offices in Washington and held some people at gunpoint. Left wing politicians and talking heads would be tripping all over themselves to get to a microphone proclaiming how dangerous right wing hate speech is.

Delusions....Like when one says about Americans voicing their opinions against the building of a mosque near ground zero is like Kristallnacht.

Didn't a guy do something similar but with a plane and the IRS? Other than on the day it happened I didn't hear much about it. Just like this recent hostage guy. One crazy person isn't worth proclaiming everyone who ever agreed with that person dangerous/crazy.

Actually I said that it feels like Kristallnacht, and I still stand by by statement. The current climate created by the radical right against all people of muslin decent is ethnic discrimination, and that sonny is what Kristallnacht was all about with the Jewish people

Im not saying I'm better than Beck because I'm in college or that he's lesser because he doesn't have a degree. What I'm saying is, he isn't qualified to be the spokesperson for the tea party movement. I could take them a lot more seriously if the people speaking for the movement weren't Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.

100,000 blacks? The lowest estimate for that march was 400,000 with the most likely accurate one being 837,000 ±20% (669,600 to 1,004,400).

LOL at "qualified." A human gave you that "qualification" and deemed it to be so. You don't need documentation to be qualified. At least, not in my eyes.
