North Korea vows 'merciless counterblow' to U.S., South Korea
-
I Wear PantsSo, what are the odds that anything actually comes of this? Things would get pretty hairy if NK actually followed through on their promise with us already committed to Iraq and Afghanistan. As well as the other nations that are implicated if anything goes down. Most notably China.

"The military counteraction of the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) will be the severest punishment no one has ever met in the world," a spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army said in a statement carried by North Korea's official news agency -
ptown_trojans_1Ehhh, the North is in the middle of a leadership change, so there may be some sort of truth to the talk. The Dear Leader's brother in law is now 2nd in command, a civilian, and Kim's son is on the Military Board, prepping to take over once Kim Jong Ill passes. But, also, the North always speaks like this. I doubt they would do anything more than what they've already done. I doubt they are stupid enough to launch an all out war.
-
Mr. 300Never gonna happen, although they may be trying to feed on the weak stance that could be taken by us if they did launch an attack.
-
majorsparkMaybe they could just sink another warship.
-
CenterBHSFanWell at least we know now that Kim can come over to the US and talk all sorts of smack in front of our Congress in DC and get a standing ovation. Oh, and the President will just grab his nuts and look away.
-
bases_loadedIf there is a time for them to do something it is while this douche is in office.

gibby08They will never do anything....not because of us...but because of the 1+billion soliders ready to shove it up there ass the second they start something

Not that I care or was looking for your respect anyway gibby, but, has this not already happened with another country's leader?
Didn't our Congress (or at least the left half) stand and applaud President Cheron when he bashed America/Americans?
Didn't Obama go on about his business and look away and not say a damn thing?
Hell, if President Obama can stand and mock Americans, he sure as hell don't give a damn if somebody else does. -

lmao, didn't we hear the same thing about Iraq? -
I Wear PantsI really hope that ccrunner was joking. That type of attitude is really dangerous considering that North Korea is in a completely different level militarily than Iraq was. The casualties in Iraq have been bad enough, I'd hate to see what a conflict with a real military would result in.
Not that it's likely to happen or anything as several have already said. -

Ummm, Seoul, South Korea would probably be gone when bullets start flying. The North has an estimated 1,000 short and medium range ballistic missiles throughout the country, plus thousands of rockets and mortals pointed at Seoul. Any war, no matter how quick, would do major damage to the South Korean capital. Hence why military action is never really seriously considered.ccrunner609;453188 wrote:I bet that North Korean military would be easy, they would be jumping into our arms as soon as we went in there. 700 million? The PLA is about 3 million. Only if the U.S. invade proper China would they send their whole population. This isn't 1950.gibby08;453658 wrote:China...its really more like 700 million -
