Let's see would I rather hang out and play basketball with a bunch of yuppies then si around smoking Malboro lights or knock back some booze, toot some blow, then run a pickup truck up a tree? I think you know the answer.

I am surprised this thread wasn't moved. My vote would be for belly35, but since I can't, it goes to GW.

I remember back at the OP, when I had first joined, I started a thread about "What is your political preference" and almost got Gonged. Cheers to Ohio Chatter!

    LOL.

By all accounts, Bush is a very friendly, charming guy who is a lot of fun to be around, whatever his faults as a politician. Obama is a bit sharper/more academic. I think I'd love to grab a beer and watch a game with Bush, while I think I'd rather hoop it up with Obama. Both seem to be pretty solid guys who would be fun to be around.

    ^^^

Have you seen Obama play golf or basketball? He has a nice set shot in basketball, but on a 5 on 5 game would be a liability even in a 40+-year old league. He is in good health, but isn't remotely an athlete. W would probably beat him in golf, but W doesn't seem that interested in participating in team sports (his running abilities have in the past been impressive but he's put on weight the last few years).

Intellect it is a push IMO - I'd love to know Obama's LSAT and/or his tanscript at Columbia

Good luck with finding any of that stuff. He's kept it hidden for a reason.

I think the DNC has it all under lock & key along with his birth certificate. ;)

Let's not start that again. If Obama weren't a legal natural-born citizen, Hillary would have found out years ago.

I'm afraid I'd be a liability in a 5 on 5 game at this point, so I might match up well with him.

My recollection is that someone who had a 3.3 ugpa offered Obama a good chunk of change (at least 7 figures) to reveal his ugpa. If it was higher than the guy making the offer, he'd pay Obama the money. It was fairly well publicized, for what it's worth, so I'm certain that Obama was aware of it.

At the time Obama applied, a 3.0+ and a 160+ would've gotten him into HLS as a URM.

I disagree about your Hillary reference to a point. She is the original member of the "birther" gang, but I think she was attempting to get him to quit, not to legally chase him out. The Dems can be tough on their own (find any Howard Dean rant), but they do not eat their own. I believe if Hillary does have some incriminating items against him, she would let Obama know she had them, but she wouldn't give him up, because he is after all, a socialist Democrat, just like her.

If you take politics aside, you are left with the images portrayed by the MSM:

    ** Sarcasm Alert

Obama- Smart, well spoken, cool, funny, good at everything he does. Married to the most gorgeous, fashion-conscious first lady ever. Friends with Jay Z, other celebrities. Could suit up in the NBA right now if he wanted to.
Bush- Drunken frat boy who is now a converted bible thumper. Hates minorities and is friends with evil oil types. Wife killed someone and escaped prosecution because of wealth/race. Twin daughters are party girls who, like dad, are stupid.

Based on above I would side with Bush-- I probably have a chance to score with the daughters--- particularly the blonde.

LOL at the last couple of posts! What Fairwood said is a typical Liberal comment coming from the higher educated left and saying "Shhhhhh". Don't talk about that and how dare you even bring it up. All you conservative hill-jacks don't know "the truth". Don't worry brothers, the Liberals will always set us straight! (Sarcasm) ;-)

I guess Tony Blair has a new book set to come out in which he sings the praises of President Bush. The "good" folks in Labour are beside themselves and it hasn't even officially hit the book shelves.

Always liked Blair and his view on the threat of radical Islam. He's one of the few Euro leaders who gets it and isn't afraid to say so publicly.

W, but then again I have always had an affinity for real Americans.

I think I can agree with fan_from_texas. If we keep this non-political, I would say that the descriptions offered of the two men are about right. I think you could have a good time with either guy on a Saturday afternoon without any need or desire to talk politics. Also, I'm not so sure that Barack wouldn't "throw back" a beer or two, just like George.

A timely piece just crossed my desk:

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt, which had taken more
than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10
    years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never
even read would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?

If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the
United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal
immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder whose side he
    was on?

If George W. Bush had put 87000 workers out of work by arbitrarily
placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one
of the best safety records of any industry because one company had an
    accident would you have agreed?

If George W. Bush had used a forged document as the basis of the
moratorium that would render 87000 American workers unemployed would you
    support him?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a TelePrompTer
installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have
laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is
really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take
Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM
stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have
    approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special
    Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and
incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful
and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing
videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly
    narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have
    approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the
nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a
    minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with
people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you
    have approved?

If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United
States, would you have said that he is clueless.

If George W. Bush would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five
minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his
front door in Texas, would you have thought he was a self important,
    conceited, egotistical jerk?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco
de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May
(Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you
    have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" would you have
hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoes as proof of
    what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a
single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had Okayed Air Force One flying low
over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan
causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually
    get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims
throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in
New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue
with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report
directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is
happening in America, would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major
corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so,
    would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant
and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this
in 15 months -- so you'll have two years and nine months to come up with
    an answer.

These days Obama would only want to hang out with you if you're a celebrity, or if the photo op would somehow benefit him.
