Chicago here it comes…one P226 Lock and Load

  • Belly35
As some of you know my daughter (the Architect) lives in Chicago. She enjoys going to the range with dad and like to shoot.

As a result of the 5-4 ruling I think I’m going to be sending her an early gift.
Note: Not really sending this to her but next time I drive to Chicago this will be gift wrapped:

    ………….Nice Sig 9mm …..

I find the 5-4 ruling appalling to think that any member of the Supreme Court that is to uphold The Constitution of the United State could even remotely think to alter the Second Amendment. However the justification of the ruling dating back to the rights of freed slaves to bear arms is out standing. Plus those rights to protect and defend their homes is perfect. Liberal comrades this ruling is major migraine.

I mean, this ruling is great and all, but I think you need to review the state laws of Illinois a little bit before you go transferring a gun across state lines into a state that requires handgun licenses.

I'm appalled that there are 4 SC justices who apparently don't believe that the 2nd amendment applies to states and cities. What the hell are they thinking? Of course they are the 4 liberal justices, too. Figures.

You'll have to spell the address correctly if you want to send her a package. I don't think it's going to happen for you, sorry.

Its not really that far fetched as to why it would be opposed. Originally the bill of rights only restricted the powers of the federal government, not the states or the people (localities). If you read through them it becomes quite clear. After the civil war the 14th amendment was passed. This amendment has been used since then to enforce the "incorporation" of the bill of rights on all state and local governments. That is why it is referred to the incorporation or establishment clause.

Trust me though the four justices that held the minority opinion it was not because they are originalists. They would find a way to interpret the 2nd amendment to not apply to individuals in any jurisdiction in the union.

The left is going nuts over this ruling. Federal power is a two edged sword. It cuts both ways.

If you could read more and stop being a grammar cop ..you would have gotten to the part where: Note: Not really sending this to her but next time I drive to Chicago this will be gift wrapped

I have CCW for Ohio and as for Indiana requires a permit to carry a handgun, which allows the holder to carry a weapon openly or concealed. A bill (2006 HB 1176) has been introduced in the Indiana Legislature which would simplify the process by which handgun permit holders renew permits and which would also create a new class of permits. I have this also.

Illinois does have a Ownership Gun Law and cities outside of Chicago have ranges. Apply for a Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) which is issued on a "shall issue" basis. See www.isp.state.il.us for more information on how to apply. The application form is available at the same website. The FOID card will allow you to possess (not carry) firearms.
Chicago is the only City within Illinois that does not permit resident to own or carry weapon…. That will change now….

I will have my daughter apply for this FOID so when the law in Chicago is alter we will be ready for the new Chicago Law so she can have her weapon.

That's good. I was going to say, trying to address something is just going to be a waste of stamps for you. Remember, I'm here to help.

It was interesting that the majority opinion (supposedly consisting of judges that claim to be strict constructionists/originalist) was written as you would expect a liberal had written it because it centralized more power to the federal government, and the minority opinion (written by the liberal wing) was written as you would have expected to see from a strict constructionist/originalist by focusing more on the state's rights aspect of things.

This is no surprise though. If it is not clear by now, the court has turned into every bit the political animal the rest of the government is. The days of the SCOTUS being an independent body that was anything but a rubber stamp for the politicians who put them in place is long gone. They are now an activist body that strives to push a liberal or conservative agenda, depending on the court make-up at a present time. Anyone surprised by this revelation has clearly not been paying attention.

I could not agree more. Its almost funny watching the twist and turns made by the judicial branch. But then you realize the great consequences nine people can have on a nation of over of 300 million.

The days of the SCOTUS being an independent body were short lived. Many of the founders feared what the SCOTUS may evolve into. It is obvious that their fears were warranted. John Marshall laid the groundwork for the SCOTUS's power to trump the other co-equal branches. Now it descends to the smallest of local governments as well.

As a weapon and explosive military expert after my Honorable Retirement Tour of Duty I came home and never picked up a weapon for over 36 years. My wife and I talked about our home and personal security as we are older now. I bought my first pistol a Sig P220 .45. I have been training to be competent and proficient in the usage. The P220 .45 is my carry / home protection weapon and I plan on getting a Sig P226 9mm as my competitive competition weapon. I have also been preparing to shoot competitively (I will have to see how that goes before I continue that area more). I have trained my three daughters, my wife and son-in-laws on the usage of a handgun and the safety of weapons. I would expect my grandkids someday to be knowledgeable of pistol and weapon safety. Not surprising that my kids and wife enjoy the range and the physical, mental, excitement and challenge of pistol shooting. Looking back the Belly family should have done these years ago as a family activity. I am well trained, proficient, competent and safety conscience pistol owners. Weapon enthusiasts not really, concerned gun owner and a believer of the Constitution and We the People Rights to bear and ownership of guns…. YES

The only thing you have to be scared of is the other guys and the fact that you’re not proficient

When it comes to using a weapon for the protection of my soul or other love ones I prefer to go with what has been proven to be reliable, accuracy, and mechanically the best. There is no room for error failure in a fire fight. I don’t need second rate equipment to protect the number one people in my life. Little history of the Sig P226 also explains the reason I used and prefer Sig over other weapon manufacturers. P226 Is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. Designed as SIG’s entrant in the military trials to replace the 1911, today the P226 is in use by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Michigan State Police to name a few. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this full-size pistol easy to handle. Available in either 9mm, .357 SIG or .40, its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy.

    Mr. Belly
    1. As I have been previously told, the policy of this forum is pro falsification.
    2. While this court decision is maybe constitutional, it is a major step backward for civilization.

That has never been a rule on this website, that was the old website. It's a joke, I don't see it as a personal attack. Hell, I buy Brownings and Glocks and would laugh if someone changed my quote to say the same thing. Maybe we should buy Remingtons, Mossbergs, and Smith & Wessons and only buy American?

I don't see what you're so upset about. My correction was the first understandable quote of yours in years.
