The late Dave Schultz was and always will be a very important member of the wrestling community, as is his wife, Nancy, his children Alexander and Danielle, and his entire family.

As you may know, John duPont shot and killed Dave Schultz in January 1996.

USA Wrestling has been informed by the Schultz family that duPont is eligible for parole and his status will be reviewed again during or after March 2010.

The Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA) is accepting statements from those who wish to be heard on whether duPont should be released. USA Wrestling has been asked to provide the following information for people who might want to provide a statement to the OVA.

    Schultz's family opposes duPont's release.

It is requested that statements be sent in during the month of March 2010.

Statements should reference Inmate No. DG1158, John duPont

    Statements can be sent by:

I looked up to both Schultz's when I was in high school. I had a huge "Team Foxcatcher" poster in my room for many years and still watch old videos of Dave from time to time. DuPont was and I am sure still is very mentally troubled, I hope he never gets out. Just a sad story all around even now when I think about it.

I knew you were alright, girevik. Thanks for posting this. Such an amzing and disturbing story. I love to hear Jeff Jordan tell his stories, and ultimately share his admiration for, Dave. Great stuff. I hope to find this book somewhere and read it.
