Mallernee couldn't get off the bottom to save his life, I was expecting more out of him. His opponent controlled that match entirely.

Sandwisch lost but was the better wrestler. This opponent was stalling the entire match, unfortunately Sandwisch got down 5-0 going into the third period, he obviously wasn't prepared for a heavyweight that relied on riding legs.

Yes, that was An Absolute Shocker to Most All! As I watched the match, it didn't look like the Quick Moving, Crisp wrestler I have seen in action. Fayette is not a wrestler to Tie-up hardly at all. Not giving any excuses, only when you don't see the same from someone so talented it is time for alarm. Bottom line, a win for Orth a surprising lose for Fayette. I think he will be a different guy on a mission to rebound from that. I wish him well. Congrats on the big win for Orth.

Edit: Shawn Fayette defeated Brendan Flannery 1-0 in 1st Round of Consolations.......giving credit to something is not flowing with Fayette in his wrestling prowess. This kid is a scorer, and scorer. A good nights sleep, and a better feel in the morning and I bet you see his machine like movements once again.

I hope so! I thought it looked like he was getting scored on in the last 30 seconds of the match though.

The PA announcer apparently didn't get the word that Fayette had lost.....he was announced as a "returning State Champ on mat X" in the quarters and the semis even though he was not on the mat

This might win the tournaments fast pin awarded award for the official. It appeared to me it was more of a "free style" pin?!
