Canal Winchester State Qualifiers

I wanted to send a shout out to the pair of SQ's for the Indians.....

Senior Conrad Rosch becomes the first 3 time SQ in the short history of the Indians wrestling program.....great job this past weekend in winning the District Championship (145) at Claymont....topping both Dylan Ice (Beaver Local) and Joe Grandominico (Olentangy) along the way....

Junior Brady Hutchins (119) makes his 2nd trip to the Schott. He finished as the Claymont District runner-up.....pinning his way to the finals before losing a tough 2-0 decision there to London standout senior, Matt Perez. Hutchins fell one match short of reaching the podium last year at State....good luck in taking the next step this time!!

I just wanted to mention 2 other guys....Indians 285 lb, Nathan Pressley (33-4) broke his arm in his sectional semi win at Amanda and was unable to wrestle at Claymont. Good job Nathan....come back strong for your Senior season.

Jordan Bellomy (152) ended a fine career for the Indians last Saturday. He was a bit unlucky in his draw...facing the eventual winner (Beckley) in the first round. Then in the consis, he was leading 11-0 at the end of the 2nd period, was caught, and pinned with 1 second remaining....a very tough way to end a high school career. I believe Jordan ended with 97 wins....falling just 3 short of the "magic" 100 plateau. Congrats Jordan!!

I see 2 placers coming out of Canal this weekend. Good luck Rosch and Hutchins!

Congrats to all of these guys. Do you think the wins over Grandominico and Ice in the same weekend catapaults Conrad into a contender for the state title!?! I think it does. We might very well see him in the finals. It will be tough but the kid wrestled his butt off last weekend. Lets see if he can do it again!

    Good Luck Indians from Teays!

I've been worrying about Conrad since his match with Ice. We sat by their team and were told the whole Beaver Local team had the flu. Ice had been throwing up in the bathroom right before his match with Conrad and had to forfeit because he had to throw up again. Tell him to load up on Vitamin C and anything else to stay well for the weekend.

Ice didn't forfeit.....injury defaulted while losing 7-4 in a match that was not as close as the the score indicates. Ice was fine Saturday....easy pins all day long.

Rosch was on his A game Saturday and Ice had nothing for him. Aa DAD4 stated Rosch was in complete control over Ice and handled Grandiminico smart in the final. The kid is on fire right now and will be ready.

    Good luck at the Schott.

He does have red hair...and he would probably not like you calling him ginger lol

As a former red head (now bald and sulky), I can tell you that ginger is not my favorite term. However, I will agree that Conrad is tough as nails. Constant movement and attacking. Very fun to watch.

    lol ginger! thats not cool!

    Hey, its true.
He is very good, saw him beat Falk at a scrimmage earlier in the year

    GINGERS DO HAVE SOULS!!!

    HAHAHA.
He is going to be at the state tournament I heard, to support all the Red-heads, and help pave their way in Wrestling dominance.
Here is his pump up video to Conrad for this week.

But serious, good luck, and let your hard work pay off!!!
