Looking for old state brackets circa 1965-80

ksig489Anyone have these? Or does anyone have the books that were made that are titled something like "Ohio's best in Amatuer Wrestling"?
I wouldnt be surprised if Bitter could just run them all down out of some kind of crazy trick in which he has memorized the bracket for every OHSAA state tournament in history. -
cruiser_96Bitter has that book, or you could travel down to the OHSAA headquarters near Clintonville I think and thumb through them.
I've done it. It's pretty sweet. There is a huge picture of Robert Sessley in the arms of his coach after winning the state title back in 96. Worth the visit right there. -

Ah ha! That book is selling for $149 on Amazon.ksig489 wrote: Anyone have these? Or does anyone have the books that were made that are titled something like "Ohio's best in Amatuer Wrestling"?
This is the book I've always heard about. Kinda like how you hear about UFO's, Loch Ness and one of the Brands bro's smiling; you know they exist but you've never seen it. -

i didn't even know this palce existed! Why have hyou been keeping this secret from me! I thought we were friends!!!! lol! I'll have to make the visit down there, that seems really cool and my wife would probably be pissed that I would be there "ALL DAY!" I could say, "well sweety atleast I wasn't at the bar!"cruiser_96 wrote: Bitter has that book, or you could travel down to the OHSAA headquarters near Clintonville I think and thumb through them.

Bitterrunner-upKsig...The way to do it is what Cruiser suggested. If you're looking fo records, or match-ups in the early rounds through the semis or scores of those bouts, the only way it to see the actual stuff. In this information age, I've never understood why it's not just all online in an archive somewhere, but I guess that would take man hours and that takes money.
The Big Book only gives you placers and scores of the finals matches (and all placement bouts), not the brackets. The new Big Book Vol. II (from 1998-2002) has the brackets, but the old book (Vol. I, 1938-1997) doesn't. If there's anything from the placement matches you need, I can look it up and post it for you. -
ksig489Thanks Bitter...but I want to get all of our qualifiers and use it to get records as best as I can for those guys too.
I'll make the trip to the OHSAA in the spring. -
Power halfI have a copy of the 1980 state program if you need any of that info.
