deter you know nothing.. alex was the only wrestler on oak harbors team to gas.. and how can u say the run and hide game didnt work when he didnt run at all, he attacked the whole time in the semis but just ran out of gas.. he did his best and he just came up short, thats that.. he'll have to train harder

OK, first of all I didn't say HE did anything. I have only commented on information from people at the tornaments the last 3 weeks that has been posted. Unfortunately I haven't been able to attend. I do know that its been posted the last 2 weeks that Alex has been leading a match going into the 3rd period and lost due to running out of gas. Secondly, I was being sarcastic about the run and hide game. I find it hard to believe that any wrestler would play run and hide an entire 3rd period when down by 1. So maybe you should actually read the posts correctly and see who has made the comment before you personally attack someone. I wrestled for George Bergman and find it hard to believe any of his wrestlers would be under conditioned, especially at this point in the season. I actually thought Alex would qualify. If you read previous posts in this thread you would see I just comment on info given. Thanks for the insult though, shows your intelligence.

    Just my 2 cent's here

I think Alex going down to 130 for this entire season was too much weight for him to cut for this long. He looked exhausted by the third period in his matches towards the end of the season and I know it's not for lack of conditioning. I by no means am an expert about wrestling so take my 2 cents for what's it worth.

Noticied that in Allseasons post 11 of the 28 top two spots came from the Shelby district, that is just short of 40%. Where none of the remaining districts were able to secure their 25% share of the top two spots. Overall Shelby was at 33% and Highland got their 25% but Lima and Wauseon once again did not secure their theoretical 25% of qualifing positions.

Tinkertrain I think you probably hit the nail on the head. Like I said before it's not typical of an Oak Harbor team to be under conditioned especially this time of the year. I think we ran more than the cross country team did. Also the fact that he had the same problem in the sbc finals would support that theory.

Shelby is the meat grinder no doubt. Just wish there was a better way to even the talent out.

Part of the problem with the Lima Sectional is that it is composed of 9 WBL teams and Forstoria. Can't really change the size of the schools in the area. Do other sectionals have the same problem?
  • Deter
I guess in theory all the teams are division 2 so it shouldn't matter. I think the real issue is the difference in each schools commitment to their wrestling program. Certain schools and communities are very committed starting at the biddy level. Some schools go in waves, have up and down years. Then other schools just aren't very supportive of their program. I think it just so happens that several of those types are geopraphically near each other. Unfortunately I don't think there is a good way to seed everyone based on teams to make it fair individually. It's a good topic to ponder.
