What did the extra two pounds mean to us....
It meant an extra quarter of a sub for dinner. It meant he could stand there and look in the refrigerator and pick out a few extra bites of fruit. It meant that 1/2 of the bottle of gatorade disappeared over several hours, instead of a quarter of it. It meant a slightly smaller disadvantange to wrestling a dual on Thursday at 141 when the other kid might still be at 144 (he would have been at 139 without the extra two). It meant a few minutes of his pure joy when he read about the two pounds on this site -- but he didn't touch the extra food until he heard from his coach -- although "indirectly."
Did he need the two pounds? Nope... he'll make weight whatever the weight is. He is disciplined about that. Did I enjoy the two pounds... you bet. Less cranky. Two pounds at any weight is just not enough to argue about. If you go hog wild while you are off and not practicing, then you are going to get a lot more than two pounds bigger. Now... stop picking at each other like a couple of wrestlers cutting weight. The kids are less cranky. Enjoy it.
