We are extremly pleased to announce that Gahanna Lincoln will be hosting the Columbus "Battle for the Belt" on Sunday, February 21st. Simply put, this tournament is THE open tournament in Columbus this season. Champions of the Open Youth Division will receive a deluxe championship belt rather than a trophy. Those who have seen these championship belts will tell you that this is truly a first class award! As if that wasn't reason enough to attend- all finals matches for the "Open"
Youth Division will be broadcast on http://www.flowrestling.org- so this is an opportunity for your wrestlers to receive some recognition for their hard work. In addition, for wrestlers who are planning to go to the Ourway Regionals the following weekend, there is no better way to "tune-up" for that event than attending this highly-competitive Open tournament.
Huge numbers of competitors are expected, most likely between 400-500 wrestlers. However, this tournament WILL start on time and run quickly as we have it broken up into three session that are scheduled a full three hours apart. See the entry form for details.
The Columbus "Battle for the Belt" is truly for everyone- in addition to the
highly-competition Open Youth Division, there is a Rookie Division for 1st and 2nd year wrestlers only, a 13-14 division for middle school competitors, a 15-19 division for high school wrestlers whose seasons have ended, and even a Masters divison for graduates who still have wrestling in their blood. Once again, see the entry form for weigh-in and start times.
Finally, please note that tournament will be hosted at Gahanna Lincoln Middle School South, NOT the high school. The address is 349 Shady Spring Drive, Gahanna, Ohio. To receive more information, or just download an entry form, go to:

See you on Sunday!
