The Ohio Athletic Committee (OAC) is proud to be hosting the 12th Annual, All Ohio Jr. High School Wrestling State Championships. Wrestlers attending Ohio Jr. High Schools can compete for the chance to become a Jr. High School Wrestling State Champion! Here are the details:
District Tournament:
Sunday, February 21st, 2010 (Entry closes at 10pm, 2/19)
Bowling Green State University, 801 N. Mercer Rd. Bowling Green, OH
(6) Full Mats with Certified Officials. Wrestling begins at 10am.
Top SIX Wrestlers in each Weight qualify for the State Tournament.
School located right off I-75.
State Tournament:
MARCH 20th and 21st Marion Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 220 East
Fairground Street, Marion, OH 43302
• Eligibility:
To be eligible to compete birth date must be after August 1, 1994
• Proof of Age:
Must bring copy of birth certificate to the District weigh-in. Do NOT mail it in.
• Registration:
All registrations MUST BE DONE ONLINE at www.ohioathletics.com[/url]
Select “Sports”, then “wrestling”. Select “Registration”,
then 2010 Jr. High School District Registration.
• There will be NO registrations at BGSU. You MUST wrestle the weight you are registered for. No weight class changes at weigh-in for District or State. Districts = Scratch weight (74lbs. = 74lbs or less).
• There will be a 2 pound growth allowance for the STATE TOURNAMENT ONLY weigh-in (50lbs = 52lbs or less). There will be an additional 1 pound for weigh-outs at the state tournament only after the last match you wrestle (50lbs = 53lbs. or less).
•Entry Fee (Wrestler): $32.00, which must be paid at time of registration on the website. --CREDIT CARD ONLY (fee covers BGSU District and the State Tournament, should you qualify)
• Admission: $5 admission for ALL spectators. (Under 3 are free)
• Coach’s Wrist Bands: Any person who wishes to be on the floor at Districts; coach in the corner, shoot video or take pictures from the coaches chairs, MUST purchase a coach’s wrist band for $5
• Weigh-Ins:
Saturday, February 20th, 6:00-8:00 PM and
Sunday February 21st from 7:00-8:30 AM
No Exceptions or extensions on times.
NEW RULE: wrestlers must weigh-in wearing either a singlet or shorts + t-shirt; no weight allowance given for clothing
We hope this will alleviate congestion and provide for a better experience.
Weight Classes: (18 weight classes)
74, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120, 126, 132, 138, 146, 154, 164, 176, 209, 249
• Match Rules: National Federation Rules with modifications.
State-32 bracket. Championship matches are three
(3) one and one half (1 ½) minute periods
Consolation matches are three
(3) one (1) minute periods. (Choice of position at end
of period).
Headgear Mandatory. Shoestrings do not require tape.

I would like to say good job to a couple of 6th graders. Jacob Speiss (74) and Seth Berd (78). Ive known Spiess for a long time and know his talent, but Berd is a complete stud. Thanks the Delta boys did pretty well. Keller was close to not going and then almost defaulted in the finals, but we were able to get 5 boys out.TC_alliance wrote:
