Central District All-Star Meet line up...

  • Dad4Sports
Just curious how the gym is set up for this event? I'm guessing they run 3 mats, and run things like a tournaments finals.....i.e. wait for all 3 matches at a weight to finish before moving on to the next weight?

    Dad4Sports...
It is run on 3 mats....and they will wrestle each weight then wait till all are finished before moving on....they will take a break mid way through for awards, then wrestle the 2nd half of the weight classes.

We have a page set up on Wrestlers Corner for this event, and will be taking pictures at the All Star Meet as well as publishing results. You can check out the page anytime you want, go to Wrestlerscorner.com and you'll see the link. You can also get there through the Results Page.

Everything can also be accessed from our Randyswrestlingsite.com page, so you can always check there as well.

Any alternates been informed that they are in??

Pick. North's Howes is in for The Burg's Chang. I think that was at 135.

As reported today by The Columbus Dispatch -- anybody know anything about this? Says Chang is in and Marco is out?

    135
    Division I Division II-III
    1. Conrad Chang – Reynoldsburg vs 2. Dave Martello - Ready
    2. Dan Latz – St. Charles vs 3. Eric Wolfe – Licking Hts
    3. Josh Toprani – Olentangy Orange vs Alt. Artie McAndrew – Highland
Alt. Brandon Howes – Pickerington North Out 1. Marco Gualtieri –

Oh -- also says Wolfe of Licking Heights is wrestling Latz of St. Charles---can't believe I missed that one at first glance.

My guess is they aligned the two wrestlers wrestling.

Also, the wrestlers do not shift up. The alternate gets put into the spot of the exiting wrestler.

    Wow...Heminger looked great....
  • Coach_Simpson
    Dad4sports - he sure did.

As for results - I was hoping to post them on my results page tonight - but that is not going to happen now, since I won't get them till tomorrow. But I do have pictures, and I will try to get them up on the site tonight.

Boyd from Marion Franklin looked equally impressive. Not to mention Coffman's Freitag. Amanda Clearcreek seems to coming along very nicely as a team.
  • Coach_Simpson
Cruiser - Yes, Filandus looked excellent, and so did Scotty Freitag. Congrats to both of them on a very strong effort.

Did Desales have anyone there? Left a little early but I don't remember seeing anyone from their school?

Not sure, but maybe DeSales didn't participate due to the fact they are still alive in the football playoffs.....

Boyd is fast as lightning. He's a huge 112 lber....Freitag had a very impressive win over Grandominico
  • hang_loose
You're right Dad4Sports.....My bad..Totally forgot about football since wrestling is about to start.

Congratulations to all who participated. Was pretty impressed with a lot of wrestlers. This is always a good event, Fretag from DC was impressive, remember it was a preview. Seemed that some still had some rust but that's ok we still move forward, remember it isn't how you start the season, its how you finish.......

100% correct. Previews can be a bit deceiving. I think we all realize the quality of wrestler we saw tonight, and will be slow to label anyone of them as anything less than the wrestler they will most likely be come March.

ChampsDad... What was the final count? How close were you?
