To know the game you must know the players?

How many think this is a true statement or is scouting a lost art.

Scouting is not a lost art. Teams with large enough coaching staffs scout all day long at tournaments. Someone from Graham scouted my kid and was able to tell Mr. Martinez before his match exactly what not to do and they yelled at him when he did it anyway. This was really not necessary. Really. Also, I just saw a certain head coach sitting through a dual meet that involved the next team he had a dual scheduled with. Just sitting and watching... man must really love wrestling.

To be the best, you need to beat this best. To beat the best you need to know them, so therefore you need to scout them. More goes on then is seen at tournaments. Somebody is always watching matches and taking notes.
