Box Score from Marysville's Trackwrestling page (Fall times reflect 1st, 2nd, or 3rd period)

Dublin Scioto 36, Delaware Hayes 31
    No box on Track
Dual started at 138 and dual was tied at 31 going into the final match at 132 with Freshman Segura Tech Falling Cruiser's guy "Juicebox" Williams to secure victory.

Not sure how the Hayes vs Circleville match ended as it was close the last time I looked over (during the 132 match, 2nd round started at 145) and then they were all getting packed up and ready to leave and Marysville-Scioto was finishing something like 285.

Segura is no joke, been wrestling for a while at Mirons....I'm sure him and Williams have had many battles before.
  • Bluepride1990
Unless Williams was sick not sure they are big battles as it was a pretty one sided match.

Williams lost to the Circleville opponent as well. Not intending to take anything away from Segura, he wrestled lights out. Just suggesting that Williams may have had an off night or may be having trouble with the weight transition. 106 to 132 is a huge jump. Time will tell. Segura is the real deal though. He'll be fun to watch for 4 years.

    Dublin City Championships last night:

    Coffman 47 Scioto 16
    Coffman 61 Jerome 3
    Scioto 67 Jerome 10

Jerome is really young and green. Lots of frosh in the lineup. Hope they stick with it.

Coffman and Scioto was a fun back and forth through the first 6 matches (152-220). Coffman then rolled taking all matches between 285-138. Mohamud v. Bodine @ 132 and Yost v. Segura @138 were spirited ones.

    Marysville defeats Westland 75-6.

shout out to the Cougars and the coaches. Certainly not the result you aim for and you aren't looking for pity but I say thumbs up for (I do believe) filling all 14 and having a handful of extras waiting in the wings. Nice to see.

On a separate note, we did a Military appreciation night last night, I highly recommend it to any coaches who like to designate various duals as youth night, alumni night, middle school night etc. There were about 10 veterans and one active service member we had the chance to recognize. While I wish we had a few more in attendance it was the 1st year we have tried it and the weather didn't do us any favors.
Every one of them were genuinely appreciative.
  • monarchpride
7 JV matches and could have had others if our line ups matched up a little better. Agreed the Westland coaches are doing good things
  • monarchpride
they are doing good things over there at Westland, we had 7 JV matches prior to the Varsity dual and could have had more if our extras line up a little better.

Darby vs. Hayes this Thursday should be a good one, the two pre-season favorites for the OCC Cardinal Crown. Hayes has a younger than expected line-up due to a couple of would-be seniors not wrestling this year.

I understand Thatcher is still out for Darby, which stinks. Darby probably takes this one by 15-18 pts maybe (IMHO). They are really boosted by strength at 220 and 285, which they did not have last year, coupled with Ball, Rayburn and others.
