Good luck to the central district and the central crossing comets
-
the comet plexI would like to wish all the Central district wrestlers the best of luck and most of all the Central Crossing Comets. This is a year as a district we can make a mark. You guys have what it takes to beat any wrestler from any part of the state now you just have to go out and get it done on the big stage. I am proud no matter what of what cc has built and what coach R. has done with this program in a short time. When I go around the state with my cc jacket or shirt on people know cc as a top wrestling program now. You guys are top 10 program now rather you know that or not. Now it is time to go and preform like a top 10 program and place some guys. I know Lasko,Mattox,Wimer,Teacher have a legit chance of a state championship and should place. Woods is on such fire right now who knows what he could do. I mean every week J.d Woods is not supposed to win and he comes out and knock off someone so I am not counting J.d out. Collins at 120 is in a bracket full of guys who beat each other so who knows he could end up 6th/7th place. People do not show collins much love but he has some big wins I really think collins having faced a really tough schedule and being in the room with all those tough guys around his weight will pay off. Mattox should win the championship and get his first of 3 for the comets. Wimer has become a well known stud around the state and some people have him 5th but I think if he stays hot he could finish top 3 and would not shock me if he won states why not wimer? he has faced the best year after year and beat the best. He goes year round and has put in all the hard work and is now district champion. If Teacher makes it to Vough and he should we could have a great 285 final vs two STUDS!!!! I think if Kam drags Vough into deep water and pushes a fast pace he could win a close match like a 2-1 score but he will have to come out and really push the pace on Vough. Best of luck C.C and to the rest of our district. TOP 5 TEAM POINTS 4 CHAMPS

Dust_E_RoadsI like Vough a lot, but I think if there is anyone who can keep him from being a 3-timer, it is Teacher (or someone who wrestles like him...which is a very, very short list).
I've watched Vough a lot (in person and on tape) and the only time I saw him ever have no answer was against Osi Odighizuwa at Fargo last year. Kam isn't quite on Osi's level, IMO (doesn't have his incredible length for instance), but he does have the quickness to get in on the legs and the size/strength to match Vough.
Vough is patient and cagy, with incredible balance . Not sure how his mobility has been impacted by the knee injury he suffered in football. Will be interesting to see if he can block the legs successfully and, if he does, what else Kam has.
Great contrast in styles. Two deserving kids. Great for the fans too. Too bad only one can be champ. -
the comet plexYes I think if not for Vough Kam would be a lock for the championship.

It is what it is26 placers in DI with 12 in the semis! : thumbup:
4 CC....HS wrestlers (Lakso, Mattox, Wimer, Teacher) in the semis! Finish strong fellas!! -
cruiser_9626 placers. 28 is the value-expected. Not bad. Ain't hatin.
-
the comet plexI am sorry but the c.d crumbled. Yes we had some guys in semis and some placers but we had so many teams do nothing. Look at hayes and coffman they have like 10 points.

And im sure there is no one more upset/saddened/motivated/angry/disappointed/ready-for-next-year than the coaches and wrestlers for teams like Dublin Coffman and Delaware Hayes.the comet plex;1784765 wrote:I am sorry but the c.d crumbled. headlock165The Comet Plex, Coffman is close to being in top 10 with 34 points. Not sure where you get your data, but remind yourself to click refresh every now and then. You're a better than that. Accuracy=credibility

jcwimerCentral district has 4 teams in the top 15 and 2 in the top 5. I think we've represented well.
The Central Crossing Comet coaches and fans wish Coffman and Hayes the best and we'll see you all this summer and next season.
The Comet Plex, please do not bash other coaches, teams, or kids. -
It is what it is
1 pt out of 10th with 41pts.!headlock165;1784771 wrote:The Comet Plex, Coffman is close to being in top 10 with 34 points. Not sure where you get your data, but remind yourself to click refresh every now and then. You're a better than that. Accuracy=credibility
Basically, 7 CD teams in the top 25! 4 teams in the top 20!! Damn near 3 teams in the top 10!!! 2 teams in the top 5!!!! 1 team with a good shot at a runner-up finish!!!!!
CD wrestlers have represented extremely well (also in DII & DIII; Ana going for a title in DII and Fitzgerald going for a title in DIII) and we thank them for their hard work and dedication! : thumbup: -
cruiser_96It is what it is: also have Jake Martinez (Licking Valley) going for 1st, correct!?

bribacker51The state of wrestling in Central Ohio is great right now and I for one am very impressed with the Comets run these last few weeks congrats to the wrestlers and coaches on a new school record for State Qualifiers, State Placers and State Finalists and the highest team finish at State in school history! : thumbup: So proud of all you boys James getting 5th and becoming a 2X placer and Jackson getting 4th to cap a heck of a career way to finish Comets! Kick butt tonight Jaden and Kam I would love to see CC....HS get there 1st state champs tonight lets go boys!
And I for one want to say congrats to Dublin Coffman with placers at 152 & 220 and a finalist at 145 sounds like anything but a let down to me Chance had his boys ready to roll great job Rocks and I hope to see another title added tonight for the Rocks!
As for Delaware there guys all wrestled their butts off a program best finish of 3rd by Brusco in a stacked weight great job Greg way to end it the right way bub! This team has come a long way in a short time there wrestlers battled and gave it all they had cant ask for more then that!
Bottom Line all these teams are working there butts off year around to compete with the best the great state of Ohio has to offer and it's paying off anyone who thinks getting a state medal is easy would be wrong! -

the comet plexI am sorry I did not want to come off as bashing Coffman or Hayes. I guess I should of worded that better but nothing but respect for coffman and hayes . I am very proud of the way the central district preformed great job guys......If I am correct and I could be wrong on this but the only state champions ever from Southwestern city school's are Larry angles 275lb 1994-Andy branham 135lb 1999 and now Mattox and Teacher. I could be forgetting some others? But wow great job and the win over Vough is just awesome with Teacher only wrestling since his freshmen year.

bribacker51Jimmy Edwards also was a State Champ at Westland and I know Grove City has had a champ but don't recall the name.

iGranbyShoutout to Joejoe Terry too. I dont see Pick Central getting much love on here (as in, not many of their parents/fans post) but him winning last night was the result of a very up-down HS career.
His freshman year he caught fire at the district and finished 5th. The following two years Joejoe also went on to finish 5th in the district, both times you could say he was "expected" to finally qualify for the state, but he fell short. This year he has clearly been on a mission, and I doubt that the mission on his mind was to "finally qualify for states" it was likely to win it despite never being there before. Going into last nights final I believe he was 1-2 vs Lawson (who also had a great weekend, finishing higher than most projected him to) and he wrestled a great match. He went out and didn't "wrestle to not lose" he wrestled to win. Terry Brands put it best "you get what you earn." and Joejoe got what he has earned over the past four years.
Kudos to The staff over there at Pick Central. I believe Joejoe is Coach Allen's first state champ, great accomplishment for everyone in that program. -
cruiser_96Chin (GC) - State Champion???
East (GC) - State Champion???
I think Jimmy Edwards' brother was a state champion as well. I'll ask him next time I see him. -
the comet plexOMG How could I have forgot about T.J. His brother joey was on my team at Heights in 98 for about a month. So Enright, teacher, branaham, mattox, and the guy bellow me says chin from g.c. I have heard of him I just do not remember any state champs from g.c at least in the last 20 years. I really only have followed wrestling since 1992.
