Dust_E_RoadsITC was reporting that Lancaster was leading North 31-28 heading in to 195 (in region 5).
North would be favored at 220. Could come down to HWT between Everett and Hutson. Very similar wrestlers. I'd give the edge to Hutson. We'll see how it goes. -

That was not cowardly but smart. Rosebery and Teacher will wrestle in a few weeks. Why wrestle them last night when the meet was already won? Please don't respond with any "competitor" crap.the comet plex;1779857 wrote:more like coward decision. -
Tony Meadthis is why state duals needs fixed and or OCC. the same kids are wrestling each other all season then expecting to dual in occ and state duals weeks apart. then have at it sectionals/district and state.
I am all for having duals, easier on the fans, but with coffman sending their jv tonight vs olib and CC sitting there guys against Olib, The Hardest division in all OCC has been a absolute Joke this year. There is a better way! It really isnt rocket science. -
KSU55
You just confirmed what I thought might happen tonight. The OCC duals have become a waste of time. End them and allow teams to dual who they want and when they want so they won't have to tank duals they don't think they can win AND stop giving reasons not to enter state duals because of back to back week night wrestling and weigh ins. Talk about wasted opportunity.Tony Mead;1779921 wrote:this is why state duals needs fixed and or OCC. the same kids are wrestling each other all season then expecting to dual in occ and state duals weeks apart. then have at it sectionals/district and state.

CthelitesWhy don't the teams up north seem to have problems with duals??
they seem to compete in their conference AND in the state series AND in their sectional/districts.
im sure Cent Oh is not the only one.
same with SW, they seem to have intense duals for their league and they also have to wrestle the same teams/kids in the state dual series and sectionals.
QUIT WHINING AND WRESTLE!!! -

Seems like every time there is thread about the "problems with wrestling" or "how to make wrestling more fan friendly or appealing" the answer is always "more duals". Then we do stuff like this.
Hard to reconcile this... -
KSU55
Agreed 100% so the Central District has two choices...try to convince coaches that it is in their team's best interest wrestle the OCC schedule and the state duals in the spirit in which athletic competitions are intended OR change the format, timing, or structure of the duals so their are no excuses. What we have now is a state dual tournament that is absent the CD's best representation (no offense to Hayes and Coffman...well done), and an OCC that is integrity challenged in at least a couple of divisions. Not good.Dust_E_Roads;1779953 wrote:Preach it, Lites.

Tony Meadwhat can we do to make this better?
-
huntergreen26I have never seen Marysville sit guys during OCC competition or state dual series, and I certainly have never heard Coach Andrews complain about it. They seem to be doing just fine! Same can be said for Delaware!
-
KSU55Heard that maybe Coffman may in fact wrestle tonite but regardless of what they decide, this is still a big issue.
-
the comet plexwell you got me on that one. I felt the same way.

PantherprideA few years ago the LCL did away with league duals and replaced it with a league tournament at the end of the year. Which has given the coaches a lot more flexibility with their schedule. Now unlike the OCC our league has teams in all 3 div. So I wouldn't recommend a end of year tournament cause it seems you would run into the same problem of coaches staying away from certain match ups but maybe a mid season OCC tournament. Just a idea.
