JV tournaments

I know its early, but I'm looking ahead to the next wrestling season. I'm the head JV coach and I want to change things up next year. What JV tournaments in central Ohio are available?

Some names I'd throw out there would be the following (not that they have openings, but at least gives you places to inquire):

    First weekend of the season (end of November/beginning of Decemeber);

Mac Sims Memorial at Groveport Madison (big tournament, generally a great mix of Central Ohio teams...OCC, City, MSL, etc.)

Northmor Meat & Potatoes (competitive, Central Ohio teams like Westerville North, Mount Vernon, etc. Rural schools like Northmor, Mt. Gilead, Galion. Teams from outside the region like St. Eds and Norwalk.

The second weekend of the season:

Reynoldsburg JV Raider Invitational, mostly Central Ohio teams. Very competitive in my opinion. Teams like Lancaster, Olentangy, Coffman, Pick Central, Reynoldsburg, DeSales, Jerome, Scioto, Thomas Worthington

    Early January:

St. Charles JV. Competitive mix of Central Ohio teams (OCC, MSL, City, CCL, etc.).

    Late January: (Friday Night)

Bradley hosts a Friday night JV tourney with a mix of typically OCC teams. Good option if you are looking for something other than a Saturday meet.

    Early February:

Jon Post at Westerville North, Competitive/challenging, not sure of team mix.

Holiday: (Week between Christmas and New Years)

Canal has a relatively new one (I believe). Pretty good size. Mix of OCC, City, MSL, etc.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I know of. Good luck.

How does the Bradley Friday night tournament work? Is it like a JV two day tournament?

Last time I went was like 5 years ago, but no it would start at like 5pm and run very quickly and efficiently and is done at like 9-10pm, most guys get 4 matches. Not sure how much has changed but I liked it how it was done.

No, just a one day. Just moves quickly, like 5:00 to 9:00. Not a huge tournament, but kids get 3-4 matches as I recall.

Just throwing it out there as an alternative to Saturday if varsity is already wrestling somewhere (don't have to split up the staff).

Does anyone have contact emails for canal Winchester's coach, they do not have an updated contact information. The same with Hilliard Bradley. I cant seem to get the email address on their website to open.

If I am not mistaken, the Chatter poster by the handle of wraith51 is the Canal coach. You could send him a PM if he doesn't already see this.

Jordan Cramer [email protected] for Canal Winchester which as Dust_E_Roads pointed out is me.

John Riggs is Bradley's coach, I believe his email is [email protected]

Ah, I was right for a change. Will have to tell the wife about that one.

BTW Coach, wanted to let you know I think your boys are showing good improvement down there. The last few years have been a real rough patch for Canal, but I think you time and hard work are showing both in terms of numbers and competitiveness. Nice job!

Thank you, very much appreciated. It is hard to see the improvement considering the success I had at Fredericktown last season. One thing I have to keep in perspective is that it didn't happen overnight for me up there and it's not going to happen that way down here either. Having my assistant and I both in the building has really helped with the numbers and hopefully continue to help as these guys continue to develop.
