For all your Columbus City wrestling information:

Shout outs too It is what it is, the herminator, lowsingle (columbus city league 4 life) and cruiser 96 (our sherpa of wisdom up the mountain of central district wrestling)

    Early predictions:

Whetstone and Walnut Ridge in an apocalyptic battle that lays waste to the entire league, and rising from the ashes this season is the return of those pesky Red Devils led by Wild Bill Eagle!

Snffff, snffff... Hmmmmm... What is that I smell? Irma that the smell of a sandbag???

Whetstone and The Ridge will both be good. Look for West to push though. No reason those MF'rs can't make some noise.

Really, its day ONE and the you know what has started. So who wins the match between Felix and Bill? I have my popcorn so I'll sit back and watch all the Big Dogs get at each other. I heard that a few more City Schools made the move up to DI well, well, well, well, well. Welcome or to some welcome back to the Friday Night Fireworks.

I remember when the city league was M.f every year under coach ball. I HATED those songs they sang in the stands. I wonder if they still do that? ''We are proud of you say we are proud of you'' or '' It's hot in here it's hot in here we must have a devil in the atmosphere'' ohhhhhhhhhh and they must of brought 30 people with them just to sing those songs. We would sit next to them every week. They practiced in a garage with the school transportation vans and had a little lounge up top the room for the real players. M.f invented raising the roof in 1997.

    LLLLLLLLLeeeeeeet's get ready to ruuuuumble!

it is a bit early, but as I predicted last year......WR wins again (too much talent top to bottom)! Whetstone is always pesky (full lineup and kids that perform when it matters). West...aka....Lou Holtz High will be tough also (close, if not, full lineup and tough kids). I think the top 3 are clear of the rest of the pack, but MF, Centennial & Mifflin have the potential to scratch at that #3 spot (low #'s and wrestling to their potential will be key, ahem, Mifflin!!).

Its going to be hard to look past Ridge. The hype is real. They have a new assistant coach that wrestled collegiately at Ashland University. He looks looks like Wayne Brady On 87 Cycles of HGH.
West will be well coached, Whetstone will be ready to go with a few hammers. I'm sure that Mifflin will have some good kids ready to compete. Marion-Franklin will bounce back this year for sure. I don't know much about any other teams. Sad that Beechcraft doesn't have a coach, they have stud bolts walking the halls up there. I'll be watching and waiting.

It looks like the croft will field a team this year. One of the football coaches is ready to take it on.

That is great news. Really pained me to see them not have a team last year.

Smart of the coach too. He'll get those kids a few more months of the year.

GL to that coach....the problem is no one wants to deal with the AD....smh

Well I may have jumped the gun about Beechcroft wrestling. I know our DC talked with our AD for a few hours Monday night about the wrestling job. But, I teach in the building, and have not seen any rassling going on yet...you know what they say when you assume

looks like we'll be at WR with the following match-ups: WR v M and W v WH (repeat of last year except M replaces C). Think the results will also be the same as last year: WR v W with WR raising the trophy!

Personally, I like the West Cowboys to win all 14 weights at City, BUT I think it's possible they only win 13. Cowboy up.
