Congrats to all Central District Wrestlers

  • USMCdevil2005
Another season has come to pass. We had some great steps in the right direction this year. All of you represented the central district well. Very proud of all of you young men. Keep the momentum rolling into the off season. Dream those dreams and work to achieve them. If you believe it and want it bad enough anything can happen!

Braken Mead-- great match. Keep working! You'll get thT title.
Jaden Mattox-- let that drive you to 3 Titles young man
Jon Furnas-- You are a monster! Most improved kid I've seen yet.
Dom Demas-- one up your brother and get 3 buddy! Great match! Dynamite kid!
Tim Rooney and Taleb Rahmani was probably my favorite finals match. Not just 2 Central District boys battling it out but two friends. Even after Rooney was beat he clapped for his friend and gave him a Bow! I'll always forever have etched into my memory the young man from St. Charles walking off the arena floor with his head held high and his dignity in tact as his bids adieu to his fans with a kiss on both hands and arms wide to them as he walks into the tunnel! Gave me chills watching.

Alex Sepeda.... You proved me wrong. I publicly apologize to you for doubting you. I wish you could have pulled it off man. I was rooting for you. Good luck in college.

Nate Hall-- way to step it up! Good season! 2x placer and finalist!
Chris Crumb-- Use that loss to motivate you for next year and beat Vough! Good job kid!

I will never ever ever forget Rooney and Rahmani. Somebody please send video of that finish to all coaches and force their wrestlers to watch it and sign a statement that this is how it is done. Brothers for life First Class! Congrats Central boys, So fun to be a part of this fine group! Jr. Olympic gold over the summer with almost everyone from that team on the podium! So awesome to call them friends and brothers! Love this sport!

    Crumb is indeed a Junior.

That being said, and no offense intended, he is not beating Vough next year. People can cut this out. Put it on any bulletin board they want, but Vough will be a 3 timer. He is far ahead of everyone else in the division and no one will out work him between now and next year. After he lost a controversial decision at Fargo last year he said, "I'm not losing again." There was no qualifier after the "again" or before the ".". On top of everything else, he is a really great kid off of the mat and a great representative of Ohio HS wrestling. As much as I love the Central District, I cannot (and will not) ever root against Vough.

Blacklist Dust_E_Roads!!! He hates the Central District!!!

    I kid. I joke. I jest.

And I agree. The kid is very good.

cool I for sure thought he was a sr..I am with you I really thought teacher had a chance he beats crumb every time they wrestle but your right Vough is so far above all the other hwts. When all said and done vough will go down as one of the best of all time and he is a real tough guy to very cocky and mean as can be and those things combined with his skills make a world class hwt.

A few others notes & observations:

    * Awesome to have all 152 's and 182' place.

    * Congrats to Lane Hinkle for placing.

    * Shout out to Scioto's Dereal Vasser (152) . Was on no one's radar at the beginning of the year Showed incredible character by losing his first match at both District and State and coming back to win, advance, and place...avenging his first round defeats in both cases.

    * It was great to see Dom Demas wrestle like Dom Demas at States. That was fun.

    * Glad to se Rahmani be able to add "State Champ" to "4x placer" on his resume. 4x placer is awesome, but I'm sure he would have lived with some sense of unfinished business had he not added a title to the list.

    * Rooney showed a lot of class in defeat. TBCH, a lot more class than he has shown over the years in victory. Not trying intending to pi$s in anyone's cheerios, but he wasn't always the classiest victor and has humiliated a lot of kids over the years. He didn't erase that completely IMHO, but I think he added some luster to his legacy on the big stage last night.

    * Huge hat tip to James Ford. Got majored by Jones in the first tourney of the year and then wrestled him so well in the semis. Had you not known who was the undefeated favorite before the match, you would not have been able to tell it by how the match progressed Tough to wrestle so well and lose so close.

    * Congrats to Troy Caldwell. When I saw him at the Central District All Star meet I thought he was way to small to win it all at 285. Tough, talented kid. His balance is phenomenal. Repeat champ. That is awesome. Don't care that is DII. He deserved all Metro HWT and deserves his #2 Boro all-285 ranking.

    * Way to represent, Central Ohio. With all the kids we have coming back. I think we are in reload mode.

    Second season begins today.

    My edits...but we can disagree.

    Its all good.

BTdubs, I've added checking out the ITC countdown clock to my morning routine. Hate to wish my life away at my age, but I loves me some wrestlin'.

not what I took from him..I watched a video and he said he was going to pin every hwt in states and he said ''you think I pinned that kid fast wait to you see what I do to the next few guys'' I watched a very cocky video of vough last year on a cleveland web site last year after his first round win.. from what I took from the video he was a very cocky guy but hey I like that. That is just me though.

and I wish they had put those links up this year...last year you could watch the matches online about 45 mn afterwards. This year was the worst coverage of states ever.
  • USMCdevil2005
Vough a real quiet and reserved dude. He is awesome though. Great position and movement as a heavy. I know he is going to be tough to beat, but if you don't put that little extra thought and fire into a guys head then you may never know their true limits.

I love Chris Crumbs gamble, but not at that moment, wear him down feel it out, wrestle smart good defense, keep score close. third period try to get a angle hit that throw hard it may have worked!
