Agreed. Like in 2013, people were bemoaning the fact that Gusan and Gutafpel would meet in the semis, both undefeated. Gusan ended up pinning Gutafpel in the 2nd and unheralded Corey Sigfried from GlenOak went on to meet Gusan in the finals and take him to over time. There was a ton of anticipation for the Gutafpel/Gusan match and it was pretty intense, but it was a 2nd round pin none the less. I think the fact that Sigfried (despite being a DC) snuck up on people and took it to Gusan made that a pretty intense final too. Gutafpel went on to take 3rd in dominating fashion. As the Teacher/Vough loser may likely will. I think most around the wrestling community understand the whisker of difference between 2nd and 3rd.
Also, people need to be careful with this paper match making. There is not a lot of cross-over action between a lot of these wrestlers. Yes, Teacher majored Bonner while Vough has won two close decisions over Bonner. Two points of note, Bonner is very familiar with Vough as they've faced each other at least a half dozen times over the past two years (in and off season). Bonner was unfamiliar with Teacher at the time they met. He is a two time state placer and I would expect him to do better the next time when he knows the single legs are coming. That opening match will be a huge barometer in my opinion. If Teacher takes it to him again, he's in for a great tournament. If Bonner has figured him out, Vough will be able to also. If teacher is to win it all, he will have a great resume as he will have to (likely) beat Bonner, Vough, and Urban. No 'backing in' there.
Willoughby's Urban is a giant and has run up an impressive record as well. I wouldn't count him out.
