OK. So sounds like the OCC Cardinal finished as follows (if I'm not mistaken):

    Westerville North (7-0)
    Hilliard Bradley (6-1)
    Hilliard Darby (5-2)
    Westerville Central (3-4)
    Dublin Scioto (3-4)
    Dublin Jerome (3-4)
    Westerville South (1-6)
    Canal Winchester (0-7)

Darby struggled with injuries all year. Jerome, South, and Canal struggled with half-filled line-ups. Scioto had a lot of youth in the line-up.

Hopefully next year these teams have more complete line-ups so we see a more competitive dual season.

Only one year remaining with the current OCC alignment.

That's true. The OCC Cardinal (or OCC North by Northwest or whatever it will be called then) will be much tougher with Delaware and Mount Vernon joining HB/HD, DS, DJ, TW/WK. While losing Westerville North will take away some top end talent, the conference should become deeper and more broadly talented under the new alignment.

Groveport, on the other hand, will be entering the "Land of the 15 Minute Dual Meet."

G-Mad, Noirk, The Heights, New Albany, Canal, and Big Nut ?!?

Fill 8 weights Cruiser and you should be hanging some banners in the new gym,,,,,

Anyone have a breakdown of the Pick. Central-Pick. North match??

I'm sure five other coaches are saying the exact same thing...

A lot of good coaches, like yourself, doing good foundational work at these schools. Hopefully it bares fruit and there are some nice, (mostly) full line-ups and robust wrestling by then.

Dublin Jerome finished 3-4. Beat Westerville Central. The only match Central won was at 152. They lost to Scioto 34-33 , if you look at the full results you will see for every dual that the won more matches than their opponents and really lose because they give up 30 points off the bat to forfeits. The only team that actually out wrestled them was Westerville North. Just throwing that out there lol.

Has anyone else noticed that it is so hard to find "3 sport athletes" anymore? We always get the "oh I'm lifting for football" or " I have track training".

Jerome only lost to Darby due to forfeits. But if grandma had balls she'd be grandpa.

OK, thanks you. So there was a 3 way tie for 4th between WC, DS, and DJ.

And agree, Jerome had some talent. Just too many holes. They have a lot of seniority though. So it will be interesting to see what the new coach can do in terms of numbers, next year and beyond....

9 matches were wrestled at this dual, 5 won by Jerome and 4 by Darby. If you take out all the forfeits, then Darby won 17-16. Yes, Transue (DJ) was in the forfeit category and would have definitely won, but still a forfeit. The Jerome wrestlers are solid and I hope they can fill those weight classes in the future.

    .
Darby has plenty and it prolly caught up with them this yr.
Seniors Donatelli Radcliff Valenti and Miller all are footballers and spring sporters and missed time due to injuries this yr and some in past yrs.
It is very tough to do all 4 yrs in high quality D1 programs.
my son's summer schedule was insane!
    football four mornings a week.
wrestling and baseball twice a week(altho I got that down to once) to go with travel baseball weekday games with weekend tourneys for 6 straight weeks. Mix in football and wrestling camps. Then start 2 a days!
    Rinse and repeat lol!

    Hmmm Really Devil?
do you think Darby might have been missing anyone in their line up?
Bloch, Ball, Radcliff, Donatelli and Miller.
thats a nice nucleus of a line up to start with.
and that's not even counting our 195 Harms we lost for the season again this yr.
garrett and Rayburn have never been close to 100% all yr and Valenti missed earlier in yr and is now starting to round into form.
its been a freaking nightmare of a season for us!

    Jerome only has 2 seniors.

Cthelights.... Someone posted 17-16 if you take out the forfeits and they were right. But was a great dual. I also know that Darby hasn't been at full speed all year.

We're gonna see some teams move to the Licking County League. These teams travelling hours for league matches/games will not hang around. This is not good for the conference. The organization of 4 8-team conferences will soon be missed. We will have a total of 25-28 teams split into groups of 6 or 7. I don't like it. I understand that there are schools in every league that are a little bigger than others. But it wasn't a huge problem. In this situation, I say if it's not broke then don't fix it.

    The OCC is too big.
