Question on minimum weight class?

When ye seeks knowledge, go to the tree of chatter. . . . . .

Kid made 126 scratch a few weeks ago, been wrestling at 126 (his MWC) but has missed weight twice. Told me today he wants to wrestle 132 now until sectionals. Can he bump up to 132 and still wrestle 126 at the end of the year? My sources tell me yes he can, and he only forfeits 126 if he weighs in and wrestles at 138. What say you wise ones of the chatter?????? (Cruiser and company)

Yep He's fine at 126plus 2 at sectional so long as he doesn't weigh in at 138 weight class.

he can still bump and wrestle 138 at duals as well as long as hes weighing in for the 132 weight class. once he weighs in for 138 and wrestles 138 he loses 126.

What if you have a 120. At tournaments could you weigh him in at 126 for example to wrestle 132 and so you will not lose your certification at 120?

That depends on what the wrestler's recorded weigh in weight is when they gets on the scale. According to the rule they must weigh in at 120.1 up to 126 even to wrestle at 132. I had this question earlier during the year and the answer is as follows: The rule reads that a wrestler may wrestle 1 weight class above his weigh-in recorded weight. Rule 4, Section 4, Article 2 of the NFHS Rules Book.
