D3 Central District Rankings
-
wraith51Ok, here is the preliminary rankings. Some weights were pretty thin, others were loaded. I'm still open to suggestions, some teams I've seen and faced head to head others I'm going based solely on word of mouth and the few results that are posted here or other forums.
Rumors of guys shifting weights or recent weight drops these will change quite a bit in the next few weeks. Also, with state duels coming up and a few bigger tournaments where a lot of these D3 teams will face off head to head, it will help figure out some of these rankings a lot better.

wraith51Starting to get some good responses for the team rankings, not too much individual though. Some weights are pretty deep and will be difficult to rank, others I don't know so well and will be hard mostly because I don't know enough.

john40Liberty Union has a strong team this year. Almost All the weight classes are filled except 126 and heavy weight. There are good utility wrestlers through out the line up. Some individuals to watch are 120 Grover( freshman) coming on very strong. Has placed in all 3 tournaments so far. 132 Owens (12) DQ and wrestled at the Central Ohio ALLSTAR meet. 138 Yenichek (11) starting to wrestle to his ability, has placed 2nd in all tournaments he wrestled so far. Placed 2nd at the Ohio State Fair Freestyle Tournament. 145 Smith (12) big improvement this year. He has a very aggressive offensive attack. Has placed 1st in all of the tournaments so far. 152 Bressler (12) DQ definitely the most technical wrestler on the team. has placed 1st or 2nd in all tournaments so far. Also wrestled at the Central Ohio Wrestling Allstar Meet. 170 Dempsey (10) hard nosed wrestler that is like the Energizer Rabbit, keeps on working. Also has placed 1st or 2nd in all the tournaments so far.

Dad4SportsTristin Siemer from Bishop Ready certified tonight at 160...tough weight for a freshman, but one to keep an eye on. I think he was a 3rd place state placer last year in middle school?

wraith51
He's on my radar, I did have him as someone to watch. Some of these weights I was 4-5 names deep with all the guys having legit claim to the top 3.Dad4Sports;1693934 wrote:Tristin Siemer from Bishop Ready certified tonight at 160...tough weight for a freshman, but one to keep an eye on. EW1984West Jefferson:
Staten has alpha and wrestled at 106 and Dingess has alpha and wrestled at 145. In years past Dingess has wrestled heavier for the better of the team, this is the first year he will wrestle where he should. -
wraith51
I did see Dingess at 145 after I posted, I have not seen Staten at 106 yet, which meet was that one? Same as the one Dingess dropped? Like I said in the post many of these will change in in the following weeks because people are starting to drop and stay at certain weights. Others won't drop until end of the month around state duals.EW1984;1694412 wrote:West Jefferson:

Dad4SportsCaleb Brooks looked good yesterday in winning the Nelsonville-York Tournament...wrestling up a weight at 113. He faced off twice against junior D2 Central District #2 ranked 113 Jordan Anthony (Buckeye Valley). A first period pin was followed up with a 15-0 TF in the rematch in the finals.
I'd guess Brooks may be at 106 for this weekend's CIT in Toledo? -

I saw Brooks wrestle the 2nd day at Medina and that kid is legit! Going to be an exciting 4 years with that kid.Dad4Sports;1695152 wrote:Caleb Brooks looked good yesterday in winning the Nelsonville-York Tournament...wrestling up a weight at 113.
