Dust_E_RoadsKnight - Had a buddy over at Orange tonight. Said it was a fun atmosphere in the cozy confines of the middle school, with the band, cheerleaders, and a MS/HS double header. Well done.

It is what it is
The Mifflin/Linden score should actually be 54-18 (due to Mifflin's 160 not being able to wrestle at 160 because he wasn't 146lbs. - weighed 143 and some change). Actually ended up costing Mifflin the match versus West due to having to forfeit 160.Fatmanroll>Peterson;1685113 wrote:Site: Columbus West HSSemi Finals

I really don't understand if the kid weigh in to wrestle 152 then he could have moved up and wrestled at 160. So the question is what weight class did he weigh in to wrestle at and who made the decision that the kid couldn't wrestle at 160.It is what it is;1685146 wrote:The Mifflin/Linden score should actually be 54-18 (due to Mifflin's 160 not being able to wrestle at 160 because he wasn't 146lbs. - weighed 143 and some change). Please correct me if I'm wrong but according to our weight management program: you can weigh a kid in one weight class above their MWW at that time and bump them up one weight class and they will still maintain their MWW. So if the kids EWW estimate wrestling weight was at 145 then you could have weigh the kid in to compete at 152 and moved him up to 160 and not forfeit 145 as their MWW.
Let me put this out their in the future if you're going to move a kid up when you make your pre-match weigh report you have the option to change the weight class that you want the kid to wrestle at.
On another issue where are all the box scores from last night? I only saw on sites scores in the paper could we get those together please. -
It is what it isThe HC does weigh-ins, so idk for sure. I believe he weighed in at 152, the reason we bumped him to 160 (1 weight class). The HC from West questioned us wrestling him at 160 and the HC's and ref met and the decision of a double forfeit was made?? We were missing our starting 182 (district alternate) and 220 (3rd at city last year), both nursing injuries, so the result IS WHAT IT IS!!
Again, congrats to West for coming to wrestle and competing hard! : thumbup: -
cruiser_96I just received a handful of results. You can find them HERE.

From what I understand of the rule, even though your intentions were to have him wrestle 152 the whole time because he weighed 145 and under his eligible class is 145 and you bump him to 152. So long as he's above 145 he's now considered a 152 and is eligible to be 160 as well.It is what it is;1685193 wrote:The HC does weigh-ins, so idk for sure. Fatmanroll>PetersonThe Mifflin kid weighed kid in question weighed in at 144.6 and the Mifflin weigh in sheet had him listed at 145. That is why we challenged it.
