Hair cap rule update

80babyI just received this email from OHSAA.
To: All Head Wrestling Coaches
From: Jim Vreeland, Director of Wrestling Officiating Development
Subject: Hair Cap Rule Change, Postponed to 15-16 Season
ATTENTION: We have investigated the availability of the new rule related to the headgear and hair cap being one piece manufactured by a company to conform to the new rule. We have learned Cliff Keen is out of the product and is unavailable until next summer. Local sports distributors have also checked the other companies with no luck. Therefore, since the product is unavailable, the fair remedy is to enact this rule for 2015-16 season. We cannot expect the wrestlers to wear it if they can't buy it. We will continue our Ohio policy with respect to the hair cap as was in place last season. The hair cap may not be abrasive, must completely cover the head and all hair shall remain under the cap. The hair cap is of no value if hair hangs out the back of the cap. The wrestler should report to the weigh-in with the piece of extra equipment for inspection.
Some wrestlers may have made an early purchase, and will have the correct one-piece unit. That is fine.
