All OCC selections ?

112in84Does anyone have the all OCC picks ? I haven't seen them posted any where, is the a website that has all the divisions ?
-
Coach RamirezI could email them to you. Too much to type on here and they are not worth it. Josh Wimer got 4th in state but couldn't get first team in his conference because not enough matches at that weight in conference meets. Common sense didn't prevail. But anyway, let me know your email if you want the results.
-
bribacker51Sorry to hear that our sport would be a lot better off if more wrestlers bumped a weight or two to wrestle the best kids!
-
Con_AlmaDoesn't your conference tournament placers dictate who your all conference members are?

Coach Ramirez
No conference tourney! Just dualsCon_Alma;1588345 wrote:Doesn't your conference tournament placers dictate who your all conference members are? -
knightflyer150It is an odd way to do things...sometimes it helps, sometimes it burns. Burnt us a few times this year.

STUPID! Pretty lame process I agree. Same thing happened to mine last yr with the amount of matches. Majored the kid at the state dual series that got first and beat the second teamer but didn't have enough qualifying matches between bumping and injury to get any placement???Coach Ramirez;1588336 wrote:I could email them to you. Dust_E_RoadsAs questionable as this process may be, I think it is better than the process which exists in other sports and other leagues, whereby Coaches get to name players to All-League based upon final league standings (first gets the most, etc.). At least there is some objectivity in this process.
The only other alternative I see is a straight coach vote process. That is not perfect either and is subject to cronyism. -
Warrior123I think a big OCC tournament would be cool. All divisions in one place. 32-man bracket with each quarter bracket being a division. I think this would give us a better representation of who the best wrestlers are.

lion69Why wrestle the district tournament a week early

cruiser_96Or do something like break apart the OCC. IKO, it's too big.
Break down the OCC. Let schools decide if they want in a conference. Perhaps five to eight-team conference isn't too bad, but 32-team conference is out of control.
And this is coming from a guy who created a 32-man bracket, broken down into 8-man brackets for the divisions, giving us 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team by division, and an (overall) OCC champ. Whatevs. -
