All Ohio - One weekend wrestling referee class April 25-27 2014

  • Refman
The class is approved and is posted on the OHSAA web site: www.officials.myohsaa.org
Perspective students will be able to log on and register for the weekend class. The cost is $75. We are trying to get a corporate sponsor for the hotel rooms that will be needed if you are from outside Central Ohio. Meals, hopefully the rooms(two nights), meals, all handouts and materials, etc will be included.
Rooms will be secured at a location nearby all venues.
All new students must have their full referee uniform to complete the weekend course by working on the mat with veteran officials at the “Wrestling Against Autism Tournament” held at Olentangy Orange High School Sunday April 27th. Veteran officials are encouraged to attend.
The Mad River Local Referee Association hosts this tournament every year. There is an entry fee for the participants, but they charge nothing for parents to watch their sons/daughters wrestle. They simply accept donations for the Autism cause. Over $150,000 raised and given.
Lead instructor is Fred Feeney, Central district. Fred is responsible for all OHSAA registration, testing, submitting grades, etc.
When completed, each new referee will have his/her OHSAA officiating license starting June 1, 2014. Therefore, there is no need to re-pay for the upcoming season license.
Rule books will be sent about a month prior to the class so that each student will be familiar with the rules prior to class.
