Just an FYI- the Worthington Kilbourne Youth Open will take place on Saturday, February 1st! This tournament has a unique feature- in addition to the usual individual competition and awards, there will also be a team race. The winning team will get an absolutely beautiful six foot team trophy! Both wrestlers in the Open and Rookie Divisions can score points for their team by placing in this tournament. See the entry form for details as to how the team scoring will work.
The Worthington Kilbourne Youth Open is truly for all wrestlers. Along with the always-competitive “Open” Youth Division (deluxe trophies to the top three), there is a Rookie Division in which only 1st and 2nd year wrestlers may compete. This division gives newcomers to our sport a chance to succeed against other beginners. There is also a 13-15 Division (high school wrestlers may not compete).
With a split session time and four mats running all day, you can be certain that this tournament will run quickly for all participants. Expect to get four to five matches in around three hours.
The Worthington Kilbourne Youth Open is a state ranking event. Wrestlers who place in all divisions (Rookie and Open) will receive points toward the upcoming state rankings at Ohio Tournaments.
