Great day of wrestling with the lil guys! : thumbup:

Wish the city would invest in MS wrestling so that our kids wouldn't lack experience and mat time!! :RpS_angry:

    Trophies looked good too! :)

How were your numbers ? Hopefully you us made some funds for the Puncher wrestling team.
  • It is what it is
Moderate, but for the 1st year we will take what we can get. I expect next year to be bigger and better.

Without a youth emphasis and middle school programs, the city struggles with numbers...I know very few high school teams can field a full lineup (think last year no team was full and only 2-3 were missing 1 weight)!

You keep beating that drum. I beat it for 15yrs just hoping any HS coach or assistant would step up and into their local Rec Center.
The City League HS's only feeder system.
There was a time when Marion Franklin was fed from Indian Mound. South from Schiller. West from Westgate. Mifflin from Feddersen. Linden from Linden Rec. Whetstone from Tuttle/Wheststone Rec.
There are kids at those Rec Centers just waiting for something/anything besides basketball.
Sackerdrag /knightflyer and a few others got it. It's one of the reasons why West excelled when they did. and Mifflin has lately.
