2013-2014 Buckeye Lineup

  • Westie101
Confirmed by Tom Ryan. Both Tessari and Campo are gone from the program.
    125 Roberts
    133 DiJulius
    141 Stieber
    149 Paddock
    157 Languis
    165 Demas
    174 Martin
    184 Courts
    197 Heflin
    285 Tavanello

Looks like were going for all the marbles the next two years with Taylor and Ruth gone, and having Hunter, Logan, Bo, and Tomasello all in the lineup.

That's not the worst line-up ever. Granted, it's not the best, but it should be a top 10 program. Perhaps top 12.
  • Westie101
I'm interested to see what Languis can do in the room after a few years. He has some good stuff!

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Paddock was transferring.

    you are wrong

Paddock was given permission to look at other schools and did take several trips. It was my understanding that Missouri looked like where he was headed. I don't think tOSU staff liked the idea of him transferring to a school that could compete with them at NCAA's, so it looks like a deal was struck to get him in the line up for his 5th and final season.

Was that deal red shirting tessari against his will?
Or did he leave stemming from what happened at the end of last season?
    Not sure what exactly happened????

From what I've heard (from a very good source) it the 2nd one.

Speaking of red shirts and medicals, what did logan get his true freshmen year? If he got a medical red shirt, doesnt he still have is original red shirt to take?

How many AA's with that line-up?

    I'll guess four.

Stieber and HefDaddy, IMO, are about as good of locks as you can get, barring those one things.

Courts and Paddock could reach the podium, but they'll both probably have to beat someone maybe they otherwise wouldn't.

All in all, I'm excited to watch it unfold.

Cruiser, Hefdaddy will have to do some adjusting to the 174-197 jump.
  • cruiser_96
Agreed. But I think his jump is more doable because of his assets - he was probably an 84 pounder last year, strength (abnormal from what I hear), and his defense. Also, I think I read that 197 is losing a great deal of power because of graduations.

No. Paddock's decision to stay and Cam's leaving the team are not related. The "A or B" scenario implied by your post is not accurate.

it was a question as I have no knoweledge nor was I trying to imply anything. Darn auto correct screwed up my post but I didnt even bring paddoct up in my question.

Languis really is a tough wrestler! He is definitely one of the most improved guys in the room! He'll might struggle a little but his work ethic will make him tough to beat.
  • ReeceHumphrey60kg
Heflin will make the jump to 97 without any problems at all, he wrestles Bergman and Gavin on a daily basis and holds his own. His style is better suited for the bigger weights anyway. Personally, I think he has a shot at the title!
  • Blast82.5
From all accounts it sounds like Heflin already is a brick sh!&-house, and I'm looking forward to seeing him at 197.

Looking at the next two years, I like that many guys are moving up. Both Stiebers, DiJulius, Paddock, Demas, Martin ... IMO, part of being competitive is being at the "best" weight, not necessarily the "lowest" weight. Jordan Oliver figured that out last year. Here's hoping that, with the redshirt year now confirmed, talk of Bo at 157 is history. I want to see him strong and sharp, focusing on wrestling, not just making weight.

I'll be posting on here as much as possible. This team is going to be a down year but will still be top ten and they will make a serious run at the title the next 2 or 3 years! I can't wait to watch these guys win it!
