Delaware County Open Mats Start 6/3

    Delaware Hayes HS will host the Delaware County Open Mats in June (starting tomorrow) on Tuesday nights at 6pm-8pm. All are welcome. Tuesdays in July will be at Big Walnut HS.

    having these on tuesday conflicts with kilbournes open mats, hopefully one of these mats could change days so that there are more places to work out. they are two of the only open mats running right now.

    Kilbourne has held our open mats on Tuesday’s for three years, this being the third. We have created a good following and are known for being competitive and consistent. Several wrestlers from many different schools have found our open mats to be a place they want to train. I feel that switching our open mat time will hurt the momentum that we have created.

    I wish all the wrestlers could find a place to train and get better. We host state champions, college studs, new wrestlers and in between. I feel very grateful to the wrestlers that make the trip to Kilbourne every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00. This is a free open mat and appropriate for all middle, high school and beyond wrestlers.

    Actually, Central Crossing is running open mats on Thursdays still which I dont believe conflict with any other. 6-730pm, Hope to see you there!

    Westie, as a college wrestler still, you may want to attend and bang with Pickett. Would be good for the both of you!

    Westie - I had the exact same first thought. Would be great if Delaware / BW could move to almost any other day to avoid conflicting with Kilbourne, which is already on the northern side. Monday or Wednesday would be best, but even Sunday or Thursday would be better than Tuesday (Whitehall and Cent. Cross. have open mats on those days, but they are pretty far from the north end of town).
