coachchuckwow that is crazy once again ncaa on a witch hunt with something its not like selling gold pants or getting free tattoos. LOL

queencitybuckeyeThey can't catch kids and their parents who accept bags full of cash, but they blow out a kid that makes pizza money writing a song. There needs to be a governing body, but the existing rulebook needs to be burned and started over.
Don't think much of the coach's reaction to this either. -
RoadkillAgree 100% with coach, would also tell wrestler to see if he could get a musical scholarship because he was lossing his wrestling one. Didn't like his attitude

It is what it isI hate the NCAA and think their rules, and interpretation of the rules, are extremely flawed! That being said, I agree with coach J Rob; the young man came to Minnesota to wrestle and be a part of a "team". I have no problem with him making music or choosing that as his passion, but not at the expense of the "team". Make a choice, that's life, either wrestle and put the music to the side for awhile or make music and free up a scholarship for someone who wants/needs it! JMO

A student athlete should be able to rely on the compliance office. When he follows their advice, he should not lose eligiblity. It became one, he said, after Minnesota showed the video at a Gophers-Iowa dual meet Jan. 26, with the approval of the compliance office. About two weeks later, Bauman said Bruett told him the university should not have played the video, and he was ineligible. -
